Job Description
Join Australia’s number one Life Insurer as a Senior Risk and Compliance Analyst. Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Senior Manager, this is a line 1 risk role where you will join a team responsible for the maintenance of Group Life and Retirement’s Risk Management Framework.
In this role you will:
- Assist in the delivery of Risk Management and/or Compliance analysis and advice to stakeholders, enabling the business to be commercially successful and fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Support and advise the business to identify, classify, measure, and monitor their risks and/or compliance requirements and issues.
- Act as an escalation point for all risk and compliance matters within Group Life and Retirement.
- Assist stakeholders in identifying potential risks and compliance issues associated with their day-to-day business goals, including assisting in the incident and breach reporting process.
- Assist the Group Life and Retirement business unit in the formulation of remediation strategies and implementation plans for key corrective actions and preventative controls, including obtaining relevant approvals.
- Support the Risk and Compliance Senior Manager in the provision of key reporting requirements, providing insights on operational risk matters such as Incident root-causes.
- Build strong relationships with the Risk Office and other line 1 risk teams.
- Assist in the management of risk processes for Group Life and Retirement such as; the risk in change process, business continuity, User Access Reviews, Data Risk Management, LICOP, AML compliance plans, Fraud Risk assessment/controls, RAS metric completion and regulatory changes.
- Conduct control walkthroughs, documentation, and assessment (design and operation) supporting risk and compliance objectives, including peer reviews.
- Assist in managing new and existing incidents across Group Life and Retirement via regular monitoring and conducting incident discussions with relevant stakeholders, in line with the Incident and Breach Management policy and established incident/ breach processes. This will also include peer reviews.
- Coach and mentor other members within the Group Life and Retirement line 1 risk team.
- Lead the documentation of key line 1 risk processes for Group Life and Retirement through standard operating procedures or procedure guides.
- Assist with Group Life and Retirement Data Governance requirements.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience in a relevant Risk Management and/or Compliance environment
- Experience working within the life insurance and/or superannuation industry
- Experience performing control assurance and managing incidents end to end
- Familiarity with the relevant regulatory bodies and legal compliance requirements of the Life Insurance & Superannuation industries (e.g. Corps Act, SIS Act, LICOP)
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills in order to articulate technical issues and formulate correspondence
- Computer literacy and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
