 This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Software Development Lead to work for Government High Security. Working closely with the Pacific Technical Services Manager, this role will act as the technical owner of the Government High Security T1A platform, responsible for driving its strategic evolution, ongoing maintenance, and delivery of new capabilities. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, overseeing hardware and software integration activities, managing component obsolescence and product sustainment, and ensuring the continued reliability and competitiveness of the platform. 

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the technical roadmap and lifecycle of the High Security platform, maintaining software architecture, product integrity, and long-term technology direction
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and verification of new embedded software features and MS Windows based applications, ensuring alignment with product requirements, customer needs, and platform objectives
  • Manage hardware component obsolescence activities, assessing impacts to software and system functionality, defining mitigation strategies, and coordinating necessary redesigns and qualification efforts
  • Act as the primary technical authority for the platform, providing engineering leadership, design guidance, and technical decision-making across all stages of the product lifecycle
  • Coordinate and govern the activities of external hardware development partners, ensuring technical deliverables, schedules, quality standards, and design outcomes meet project and product requirements
  • Maintain ownership of software quality, configuration management, and release processes 

 

Key Experience & Capabilities:

  • Degree Qualified in Software Engineering or similar level discipline
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in embedded software development
  • Experienced in C application development in a Linux environment required
  • Experienced in Linux shell (bash) scripting required
  • Experienced in GUI application development in Linux Qt C++ required
  • Knowledgeable in MS Windows application development using Visual C# and SQL required
  • Familiarity with Subversion (SVN) source control Proficiency in UX design
  • Highly organized and structured approach, skilled at asking questions and listening to feedback. 
  • Customer & solution orientated approach. 
  • Pro-active team player and focus on quality and a right first-time approach.
  • Good communication - both verbal and written
