About this role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the  Accounts & Onboarding team  at Stake, you'll be a pivotal part of our Accounts and Onboarding team, driving the development of our onboarding, account access and management experiences to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Plan, design, and deliver scalable software for Stake to provide an exceptional product experience. Build highly available systems and contribute to architectural solutions. Work in a dynamic environment, implement technologies, and manage software products in a fast-growing business. In particular you will:

  • Lead the design and architecture of complex technical projects, ensuring alignment with system-wide goals and standards;
  • Set the standard for high-quality, maintainable, and testable code;
  • Deeply own the systems you build, thriving in an on-call environment and being the subject matter expert and point of escalation for high priority issues;
  • Provide reliable development effort estimates and ensure timely delivery of high-complexity solutions, balancing technical excellence with business needs;
Our Tech stack:
  • Golang, CockroachDB, Pub/Sub, gRPC, Redis
  • GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Datadog

Don’t worry if you don’t have experience with Golang or some of our other technologies. If you’re a capable engineer with proven ability using other stacks and are happy to learn ours, then we want to hear from you!

A bit about you
  • You keep it simple, there is a place for complexity and exotic technologies but they have to be justified, simple solutions are the default
  • You’re a pragmatist, you "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good", you pick the right tool for the job and make sensible trade-offs when needed
  • You raise the engineering bar, you advocate for best practices, champion code quality in PR reviews and actively contribute to raising the standards of the wider engineering team
  • You build up those around you, you are generous with your knowledge, you work collaboratively with your peers and mentor junior engineers

At Stake, we’re more interested in your attitude than your resume. If you believe this is a role you want to jump into, please apply and let us know why in your cover letter!
