Job Description

What you’ll do:  

In this role, you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary squad focused on building a product that enables buyers and sellers to transact safely and securely on the carsales platform. Working closely with skilled colleagues in Engineering, Product, and Design, you’ll apply a strategic, start-up mindset to move quickly and achieve product-market fit.

  • Lead the development of front-end features that are visually refined, high-performing, and accessible.
  • Guide technical decisions related to front-end architecture, frameworks, tooling, and testing.
  • Follow established engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality standards.
  • Support and mentor team members by offering technical guidance and conducting peer reviews.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to enhance product outcomes through experimentation and data-driven iteration.
  • Contribute to backend development when needed, particularly across APIs and microservices.
  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to deployment and maintenance.
  • Help shape squad strategy and direction by keeping the team focused on delivering customer value.

Qualifications

What we are looking for?

  • A front-end enthusiast with full-stack capabilities.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React (preferred), AngularJS, orVue.js..
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3, with a solid grasp of front-end fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with the modern front-end ecosystem, including bundling, linting, testing, and release processes.
  • Extensive experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, Mocha, or Chai.
  • Exposure to backend development; experience with .NET/C#, REST APIs, and microservices is preferred.
  • Comfortable working within CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and code quality controls.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
