About this role
As the Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in the analysis, design, development and support of applications to support a range of business needs.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering advanced software solutions within our Agent Experience & Telephony domain. You’ll play a key role in transforming nib’s customer service and agent experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
Successfully develop applications in projects of increasing complexity over time, contributing across multiple areas or domains of the code or product
Collaborate with UX designers, TPAs/TBAs, Product and Project Managers, and other engineering teams to transform prototypes into production-ready applications
Support the promotion, maintenance, and continuous improvement of existing libraries and frameworks utilised across the Group
Liaise with technical and solution architects, as well as the wider architecture group, to ensure application alignment with architectural standards and strategic goals
About you
The successful candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, combining strong business acumen with a pragmatic approach, and a proven track record of delivering technically excellent solutions across increasingly complex projects and multiple areas of the code or product.
You are a strong communicator who provides thought leadership on software engineering best practices, such as automated acceptance testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and anti-fragile self-healing systems.
You are comfortable with lean and experimental approaches, including rapid prototyping, and maintain a focus on customer service and human-centred design.
We’re looking for:
Commercial experience developing solutions in modern languages such as Typescript, Python combined with ability to quickly learn existing codebases (you will be required to work in both languages)
Experience with cloud platforms, micro-services, and serverless architectures (ideally AWS) and deployments, including devops and CI/CD experience
Experience with LLM/NLU chat technologies such as Rasa CALM, Amazon Lex, Dialog Flow, Wit.ai and/or Salesforce Einstein
Experience with platforms for contact centre, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) &/or customer engagement; examples include Amazon Connect/Outbound Campaigns, Twilio, Gensys, Salesforce CRM or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Experience with Agentic AI software development tools such as Github Copilot, Cursor IDE, MCPs
Experience with JavaScript frameworks like Vite, React, AngularJS or Vue.js.ca
Knowledge of storage options and their trade-offs including some or all of: relational DB, object storage, data warehouse, NoSQL, VectorDB, GraphDB
Experience with LLMs, Embeddings, Vector databases
