We are looking for a world-class technical Senior Solutions Architect to be part of a team that is responsible for the technical deployments of Snowflake to our customers. The Sr. SA will work directly with customers and with customer system integrators to deploy Snowflake. This person must have a passion to solve unique world-changing technology problems. The Sr. SA will be responsible for providing the technical expertise to make Snowflake’s customers successful.
This person will have a broad range of skills and experience ranging from data architecture to ETL, security, performance analysis, analytics, etc. They will have the insight to make the connection between a customer’s specific business problems and Snowflake’s solution, the customer-facing skills to communicate that connection and vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences, and the technical skills to be able to not only build demos and execute proof-of-concepts but also to provide consultative assistance on architecture and implementation.

AS A SENIOR SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT, PUBLIC SECTOR - CANBERRA AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
Lead technical pieces of client data warehouse implementations and on-boarding efforts
Work with the other Customer Engagement and Delivery matrix resources to ensure proper technical guidance, project management and functional support
Collaborate as needed with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Sales Engineering, and Professional Services teams
Help clients troubleshoot the implementation of the product within their systems
Gather intelligent product feedback and recommendations from customers to design and inform new features and capabilities
OUR IDEAL SOLUTION ARCHITECT WILL HAVE:
12+ years of experience in a customer facing technical role specialising in public sector
Strong database and data warehouse experience, including recent experience writing and tuning complex SQL queries
Experience and understanding of large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack)
Experience implementing ETL pipelines using custom and packaged tools
Ability and flexibility to travel to work with customers on-site 25% of the time
BONUS POINTS FOR HAVING:
2+ years of practical Snowflake experience
OLAP Data modeling and data architecture experience
Hands-on experience with Python, Java or Scala.
Experience with non-relational platforms and tools for large-scale data processing (e.g. Hadoop, HBase)
Familiarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Tableau); it is not expected you will be an expert with any integrated upstream or downstream tools used to access data in Snowflake
