We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect (Shopify) to define and lead scalable, secure, and commercially sound architectural solutions on the Shopify platform. This is a senior, client-facing role working across pre-sales, discovery, solution design, and delivery, supporting multiple engagements and helping grow our Shopify capability in ANZ.
What you’ll be doing- Define, maintain, and govern Shopify architecture standards, principles, and reference architectures.
- Provide architectural leadership across pre-sales, discovery, and solution design for enterprise Shopify and Shopify Plus implementations.
- Lead technical discovery and translate business, commercial, and client requirements into practical solution approaches.
- Review and validate solution designs for scalability, security, performance, and integration best practice.
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and estimates to ensure solutions are delivery-ready and commercially viable.
- Provide architectural oversight across delivery engagements, including risk identification and mitigation.
- Design and oversee integrations between Shopify and enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways, and third-party platforms.
- Build reusable architecture assets, frameworks, and accelerators to support repeatable delivery.
- Act as an internal Shopify SME, advising on capabilities, limitations, and best practice.
- Partner closely with Sales, Delivery, and the Global Shopify Practice Lead to shape the team and adapt global assets for local needs.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years’ experience delivering end-to-end digital commerce projects in Australia
- 5+ years’ experience across B2B, B2C, and headless/Hydrogen builds
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar (or equivalent industry experience)
- Shopify-related certifications desirable (not mandatory), e.g. Shopify Partner or Shopify Plus ecosystem credentials
- Evidence of continuous professional development in solution architecture, digital commerce, and/or cloud technologies
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to communicate confidently with C-level stakeholders
- Industry recognition as a Shopify leader
- Prior experience as a Technical Director, Lead Architect, or Principal Consultant on enterprise Shopify deployments
- Significant experience in solution architecture or senior technical leadership roles in digital commerce
- Proven pre-sales involvement, including discovery workshops, solution design, technical presentations, and proposal support
- Strong technical delivery background, ideally including previous experience as a Shopify Senior Developer or Development Lead
- Experience working across Sales, Delivery, Product, and external partners
- Strong capability in architecture governance, risk management, and scalable solution design
- Strong knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem, partner landscape, and best-practice implementation in ANZ
- Comfortable operating in a client-facing, multi-project agency/consulting environment
