About the role

This role sits within the Core Infrastructure Modernisation, Enterprise Migration Stream, responsible for migrating enterprise workloads to modernised infrastructure as part of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s (RBA) broader CoreMod Program.

Reporting to the Project Team Lead, you will work directly with project managers, architects, and technical teams to ensure the seamless transition of enterprise systems onto modern platforms. This role requires expertise in infrastructure management, automation, security, and cloud technologies, with a strong focus on operational excellence and system reliability.

About you

You'll be an expert in:

  • System Administration & Infrastructure Management – Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Migration & Modernisation – Assist in migrating workloads to modernised infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to best practices.

  • Automation & Optimisation – Develop and maintain infrastructure automation (e.g., scripting, IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform) to improve system efficiency and scalability.

  • Security & Compliance – Ensure security, risk, and compliance requirements are met in line with RBA policies and regulatory standards.

  • Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting – Proactively monitor system health, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with business needs.

Key Requirements

  • At least 5+ years’ experience in system administration, infrastructure management, or related roles in enterprise environments.

  • Expertise in Windows/Linux server administration, virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform).

  • Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and identity management.

  • Experience in enterprise workload migrations or infrastructure modernisation (preferred).

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban) is a plus.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, VMware, ITIL) are highly regarded.
