About the Role (your why)  

Our Professional Services team provides high value services to our customers ranging from Advisory to Technical Delivery. Being a customer facing business unit, our team members are our ambassadors for Datacom, representing our brand, products and services. We operate with the utmost professionalism and integrity when dealing with our customers and focus on project delivery!

As the Senior Systems Engineer you will have the opportunity to work across a large enterprise upgrade and migration project of VMware and Wintel Servers on a 6-month contract.

Our offices are based in Canberra. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best! 

Please note: Due to our customer requirements, you must have Australian Citizenship and hold a NV1 Security Clearance to be considered for this position


What you’ll do   

  • This opportunity will see you working through the end-to-end project lifecycle from design through to delivery and ultimately ensuring the smooth transition to operations
  • Your customer project engagements will typically see you produce design documentation within the context of the overall solution architecture. You will be accountable for the successful implementation of the agreed design, including producing as-built documents and other supporting artefacts to facilitate a seamless handover to operations.
  • You’ll also be involved in pre-sales engagements where you’ll work in close collaboration with Solutions Consultants to analyse and understand customer requirements and contribute to the development of proposals.

What you’ll bring  

As an experienced professional contractor, you’ll be passionate about technology and using it to deliver great customer outcomes.

Ideally, your Technical Skills will encompass some of the following, which will be supported corresponding vendor certifications:

  • Windows Server
  • MS Exchange
  • SCOM
  • SCCM
