Boeing Global Technology - Australia (BGT-A) supports the future growth and profitability of Boeing Australia's businesses and the broader Boeing enterprise. This advanced research and development arm creates future aerospace solutions while improving the cycle time, cost, quality and performance of current systems.
This role is based in Brisbane City and St Lucia, QLD.
As a Senior Systems Engineer (Autonomy), you will:
  • Apply systems thinking to model, integrate, verify and validate interoperable autonomy services within the autonomous system architecture. These may include flight autonomy, mission autonomy, mission systems, C2 environments, devops and operational testing.
  • Coordinate cross-functional and business unit stakeholders to capture the technical and non-technical data required across the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Employ best practice in Model-Based Systems Engineering and Mission Engineering to develop, interrogate and export system model descriptions that are clear and reviewable for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Design performance measures at different levels of the system hierarchy that reflect impact on the overall system, and the aggregation of sub-system measures into overall system performance.
  • Develop and execute verification and validation test plans using simulation and flight tests.
  • Make recommendations that support decisions under risk and under extreme uncertainty; adapt with agility as the situations evolve.
  • Extend the state of the art in aerospace systems design to support functional allocation of traditionally human-executed functions between human and autonomy components of the system.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Required:
  1. Tertiary qualification in systems engineering, other engineering disciplines (including aerospace, mechatronics, electrical, or software), computer science, physics or related disciplines.

  3. Professional experience in Systems Engineering.
  4. Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing technical environments.
  5. Ability to work both as an independent contributor, and as an active collaborator within a cross-disciplinary team.
  6. Be an Australian citizen and hold, or fulfill the requirements to obtain a NV-1 Australian Defence security clearance.

Desirable:
  1. Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering and SysML.
  2. Experience in tools, including Dassault MSOSA and devops test pipelines.
  3. Demonstrated experience in autonomous systems or robotics applications.
  4. Demonstrated systems engineering experience for the earlier developmental / prototyping stages of technology.
