About the role:
The Senior Technical Solutions Engineer plays a key role in providing thought leadership, planning, management, and technical design development for our customers; seeking to support their migration to, or growth within, our Data Centre Facilities. Working collaboratively across design, customer, and delivery teams; this position acts as a Data entre Engineering SME, deployed across the business in technical discovery, customer response preparation and major change consultation.
Othe responsibilities include:
- Work with internal teams to respond to requests from customers, and to respond in bid scenarios.
- Support with hyperscale pre-sales opportunities, proposing opportunities that are equally technically robust, and commercially viable.
- Provide advice and support to stakeholders and cross-functional teams throughout the sales lifecycle - plan and lead workshops, deep-dives, and solution review sessions.
- Prepare data centre engineering briefing information to ensure alignment between CDC Data Centres and our customers.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Delivery Design team to customise and configure design to meet customer specific needs.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to appropriate parities; capturing and escalating risk where required.
- Contribute thought leadership surrounding innovation and Data Centre Engineering best practice.
- Develop and manage key relationships alongside our Sales team, to identify, coordinate, and win business; support with key sales collateral (schematics and pitch decks).
- Attend and contribute to appropriate team and stakeholder meetings and committees ensuring excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.

About you:
The ideal candidate presents as a natural problem-solver, combining demonstrated technical solutions knowledge from within critical infrastructure environments, with a strong commercial and customer-focused approach. The successful candidate will be well-adjusted to operating within dynamic and fast-paced environments, possessing the ability to translate technical customer requirements, into actionable and feasible solutions which can be communicated and implemented across our business functions. Bringing together strong stakeholder engagement skills, and an understanding of data centre design and delivery engineering principles; we would particularly love to hear from candidates that have had exposure to hyperscale facility design and implementation.
- 5+ years’ technical solutions experience from within data centre engineering or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience in optimising and evaluating solutions engineering designs for both time and cost efficiency.
- Exposure to designing and implementing customer deployment solutions.
- Strong understanding of Data Centre Engineering principles and industry standard design architectures.
- Demonstrated experience in pre-sales or post-sales engineering teams - customer-facing engagements, proposals, technical solution development.
Essential:
Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
