Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A fantastic opportunity has presented itself located in Sydney for a Senior Treasury Risk Manager reporting to the Assistant Treasurer.

A bit about your role

As the Senior Treasury Risk Manager, you will take a hands-on approach to identifying, measuring and managing nbn’s financial risks across interest rates, liquidity, foreign exchange and counterparty exposures. You will ensure risks remain within approved appetite and policy limits while providing trusted insight to support funding, capital management and broader treasury decisions.

You will bring quantitative capability to life by developing and maintaining financial models that support scenario analysis, hedging valuation and long-term risk forecasting. Your work will help shape hedging strategies, assess derivative structures and ensure the ongoing effectiveness of risk mitigation activities. You will also contribute to understanding nbn’s short- and long-term liquidity position, funding capacity and refinancing risk, working closely with treasury colleagues to inform funding strategy and planning.

A bit about you

Your background includes experience managing fixed interest rate exposures and supporting optimal funding outcomes, with exposure to bank treasury or, more likely, a large corporate or infrastructure environment where treasury models are managed internally. You are organised, thoughtful and commercially minded, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insight. You take ownership of outcomes and are comfortable working autonomously while providing independent and constructive risk oversight.

You hold a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline, along with several years of experience in a financial risk management or treasury environment. You have a strong grounding in financial risk management and are confident applying advanced analytical and quantitative skills to complex financial markets and treasury risks.
