Senior UX/UI Designer (Contract)

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the design craft end to end, from early concepts and usability testing through to polished, production ready UI. You'll work across web and native iOS and Android, shaping complex products that real people rely on every day.

Because our work spans a range of clients, industries and product types, we're after someone with broad experience who can adapt quickly and hit the ground running in new environments. This is a senior role, so you'll need to move fast, make confident calls and deliver high quality work without heavy oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design across responsive web (mobile, tablet and desktop) and native iOS and Android apps
• Plan and run usability testing, then turn the findings into meaningful experience improvements
• Translate complex workflows into clear, intuitive interfaces
• Design high fidelity UI screens, prototypes and reusable components in Figma
• Bring an AI first mindset to your work, using AI tools to accelerate your design process and designing clear, trustworthy experiences for AI powered features
• Apply platform conventions correctly, using Apple HIG and Material Design and their native components where they belong
• Keep the experience consistent across web and native without flattening either platform
• Present and champion design decisions to stakeholders with clarity and confidence
• Bring strong consulting skills to client engagements, building trust quickly, managing expectations and guiding stakeholders through ambiguity and competing priorities
• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, product owners and delivery leads

• A consultative approach, communicating clearly with technical and non technical stakeholders, managing expectations and flagging risks early
• A solution mindset, translating complex requirements into clear, fit for purpose designs that balance creativity with what can realistically ship within real constraints
• Confident decision making, setting direction, making the call and taking accountability for the outcome

• A drive to ground your work in real user insight, not just aesthetics

Technical Skills

• Senior experience in end to end product design, covering both UX and UI
• Broad experience across different industries, product types and team structures, with the versatility to adapt your approach to each
• A portfolio that shows shipped work across native mobile and responsive web
• Strong working knowledge of Apple HIG and Material Design
• Hands on experience running usability testing and acting on the insights
• Advanced Figma skills, including building and maintaining component libraries
• A solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design across web and native
• Practical experience using AI tools in your design workflow, and an interest in designing for AI powered experiences
• Bonus: experience in complex or regulated industries such as finance, health or government
