🫶🏼 Industry-leading perks & benefits

Search just changed more in two years than it did in the previous ten. If you want to be the person who actually works out what that means for real brands, rather than reading someone else's take on it, keep reading.

Reload Media is looking for an SEO Specialist to join our Sydney team. You'll own organic strategy for your own portfolio of clients across the full remit: technical, on-page, content, off-page, and increasingly AI search. We're a media and performance agency, not a media agency and not a performance agency, and SEO sits right in the middle of how we win.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role. You'll build the strategy, do the work, present it, and answer for the results.

THE ROLE

Here’s a bit of a snapshot of what’s involved in the role:

  • Own a client portfolio - 8-10 clients across different industries and sizes, where you're the person who knows their organic performance best
  • Build the strategy - research, plan and build SEO strategies shaped by each client's industry, competitors and commercial goals. No two will look the same
  • Execute across the full remit - keyword and gap analysis, technical audits, on-page optimisation, content briefs, off-page and link acquisition, site usability, Core Web Vitals and structured data.
  • Work AI search properly - contribute to AIO and GEO strategy: how our clients get found, cited and recommended inside AI answers, and the evolving way people search for information.
  • Run the risky projects - website migrations and risk-mitigation audits, where the job is protecting organic performance that took years to build.
  • Report on what matters - pull insight from GA4, Google Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog, and build reporting in Looker Studio that answers the client's business question, not just a single-channel view on performance.
  • Present and defend your thinking - regular client meetings where you take them through the strategy, the results and what you're doing next. You’re not acting as the account manager, but you do get to chat to your clients directly and build relationships.
  • Plug into the wider team - you'll sit in a multi-disciplinary pod of 6 to 8 people, building integrated strategies with paid, content and media, and spotting where SEO can help clients beyond your own portfolio.
  • Use AI to do better work, not just faster work - we'll invest in your AI skills from day one, and provide you with scaffolding, support and training so you can use AI beyond just helping you write emails to actually deliver some truly standout work.

WHO WE THINK WOULD BE A GOOD FIT

  • Around 1-2 years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally across a range of clients or businesses. Agency experience is advantageous, but if you don’t have this, it’s not a deal breaker.
  • You've built and executed SEO strategy yourself, not just delivered tasks from someone else's plan.
  • Comfortable in front of clients, or ready to be. You'll be presenting your own work early.
  • You can hold the grey areas of SEO and still make a call and move forward. SEO rewards people who decide.
  • You like data, and you can turn it into a recommendation someone non-technical will act on.
  • A proactive, 'take charge' approach to manage multiple projects and stay on top of your work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Actively embracing AI tools as part of your everyday practice - you see them as a way to do better work, not just faster work
  • Curious about AI search specifically. You don't need GEO experience, but you should have opinions about where search is heading.
  • No degree required, but we do expect marketing minds. We care about how you approach work and what you've done over formal education.

WHAT RELOAD CAN OFFER YOU

  • We're one of the few indie agencies actively building bespoke AI tools in-house, giving our team a genuine edge. We'll invest in your AI skills from day one so you're in the driver's seat, not playing catch-up.
  • A multi-award recognised agency - finalists for AdNews Digital Agency of the Year, and B&T Best Digital Services Agency and Performance Agency of the Year (2025).
  • Google Premier Partner, Meta Business Partner and IMAA member - meaning you'll benefit from direct platform access, early product betas, and dedicated support from Google and Meta reps. You'll also get awesome opportunities like getting involved in IMAA's Pitchella (where our team was recently a finalist!).
  • A national team across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne - come hot desk across any of our offices!
  • A pretty awesome client list - work with the likes of Yamaha, Aje, Camilla, Akubra, Kathmandu, Pillow Talk, and more.
  • We're not a 'churn and burn' agency - we value building long-term client partnerships where we can really become part of their team, be strategic and create impact - this is when the cool stuff happens!
  • We know our team is the reason for our success - and we take care of them knowing this. We prioritise our team as we know they're building careers (not just turning up to a job!), and work hard to provide training plans, custom development pathways, clear and transparent salary review methodologies and solve the everyday challenges when we can. We think that's why we've had over 40 people reach their 'Five Year Beer' milestone - and been shortlisted for the AFR Boss Best Places to Work.
  • Our culture is focused on growth mindset - we believe we can all actively improve with practice, and this comes with a fail-safe culture. We'd much rather you give something a go, and it not work, than to never try in the first place!

SALARY & BENEFITS

We're offering $75,000 to $80,000 + Super ($84,000 to $89,600 inclusive package).

We could talk about all the great things about working at Reload all day, but here’s some of the key ones you should know about right now:

  • Hybrid work setup (obviously!)
  • Up to $1,000 personal professional development budget each year
  • Phone and call plan provided for work and personal use
  • 2 additional days off per year for Rest & Relaxation
  • Your birthday off each year!
  • Menstrual & menopausal leave
  • 3 months paid parental leave (on top of the standard Government program!)
  • Brand-new on-site gym, sauna, golf simulator, and yoga facilities, free for all staff in the building
  • Free counselling for work/personal matters for you & members of your household
  • Socially-conscious policies – including volunteer leave, blood donation leave, fertility treatment leave, gender transition leave (and more!) all supported by our active Reconciliation Action Plan, Diversity & Inclusion and ESG committees.
  • 50% discount on all Hardie Grant published book titles

BE YOURSELF, WE LIKE YOU THAT WAY

We celebrate multiple approaches, points of view and backgrounds. We work hard to build a culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the ability of everyone to be their full authentic selves at work.

At any point in the application process, please feel safe to let us know of any accommodations that will make it more accessible for you. We encourage you to share your pronouns and anything else you would like us to know that will make this an enjoyable experience.

What you need to know about the Sydney Tech Scene

From opera to comedy shows, the Sydney Opera House hosts more than 1,600 performances a year, yet its entertainment sector isn't the only one taking center stage. The city's tech sector has earned a reputation as one of the fastest-growing in the region. More specifically, its IT sector stands out as the country's third-largest, growing at twice the rate of overall employment in the past decade as businesses continue to digitize their operations to stay competitive.
