At Jamf, we believe in an open, flexible culture based on respect and trust. Our track record and thriving work environment all stem from the freedom we grant ourselves to get the job done right. We take pride in helping tens of thousands of customers around the globe succeed with Apple.

The secret to our success lies in our connectivity, while operating with a high degree of flexibility. Work-life balance remains our priority while feeling connected is important to maintain our strong culture, achieve our goals, and thrive as #OneJamf.

What you’ll do at Jamf:

At Jamf, we empower people to be their best selves and do their best work. As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you’ll help us balance development velocity with the reliability our customers depend on. You’ll work with engineering teams to implement how their services are measured, investigate production issues across the stack, and turn what you learn into automation, tooling, and documentation that improves reliability. You’ll use agentic development tools as part of your everyday practice, delegating well-bounded tasks, verifying the output, and contributing to the shared context that makes AI effective for the whole team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Customer Success and Technical Support, where you’ll take ownership of part of your team’s systems, deliver reliability improvements end-to-end within your team and grow toward broader influence.

This role if offered as remote in Australia. You may be required to work periodically at a Jamf office or collaborative work location with other Jamf employees in your area for certain events or moments that matter. We are only able to accept applications for those based in Australia and unrestricted work rights in Australia. At this time, we are unable to offer employer sponsorship or support employer-administered work authorisation for this position.   #LI-Remote

What you can expect to do in this role:

  • Work with engineering teams to implement and maintain service level objectives, error budgets, and supporting indicators, helping teams to understand what those measures are telling them.
  • Investigate production issues across application, data, infrastructure, and network layers, using AI to correlate logs, metrics, and code, seeking guidance on the most complex or highest-risk problems.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, runbooks, postmortems and proofs of concept for both technical and non-technical audiences, in a form that engineers and AI tools can re-use.
  • Take ownership of part of the team’s domain: identify sources of toil within that scope and eliminate them through automation, AI agents, tooling, and process change.
  • Help refine the conditions set for AI agents within your team's scope: task definitions, guardrails, and integrations such as MCP servers.
  • Contribute improvements to shared repository context, skills, and prompt patterns with guidance.
  • Collaborate with other individuals and teams as issues arise, serving as a technical escalation point for customer issues within your team's domain and helping drive them to resolution.
  • As part of our global support model, this role may participate in an on-call rotation to support production incidents outside standard business hours.
  • Help shape the technical design of reliability improvements and tooling within the team, identifying performance bottlenecks in areas the team owns.
  • Informally mentor less-experienced engineers within the team, sharing debugging and reliability techniques, giving constructive feedback, and modelling effective, safe use of AI.
  • Share findings from investigations, project work, and alerting patterns with your team and others, including AI patterns and prompts the team has found effective.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering, SRE, IT or production operations roles. (Required)
  • Production troubleshooting skills across the stack. Ability to diagnose issues using available tools (profilers, heap and thread dumps, query plans, traces, logs and metrics). (Required)
  • Exposure to working within a form of the Agile development framework. (Required)
  • Hands-on experience operating production services on AWS (e.g. EC2, S3, EKS, RDS/Aurora, CloudFront). (Required)
  • Experience utilizing observability tools (i.e. Grafana, Prometheus, LogicMonitor). (Required)
  • Experience creating clear and concise technical documentation. (Required)
  • Experience writing automation in a general-purpose language (e.g. Python, Go, Java or similar). (Required)
  • Sound judgement about when and how to apply AI in SRE work, including verifying AI output before it affects production systems or sensitive data. (Required)
  • Hands-on experience using agentic development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to deliver engineering or operational work, scoping bounded tasks and verifying the output. (Required)
  • Experience contributing to shared AI assets such as repository context files, reusable skills, or prompt patterns. (Preferred)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD tooling (e.g. Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins). (Preferred)
