We’ve always been pioneers, and we’re proud to see that spirit in our people. Our resilience has helped us through good and tough times, and it still drives us to keep pushing the challenging expectations today.

The Social Media Lead is responsible for driving Qantas’ paid social strategy and execution across both Australia and International markets. This role leads the planning, implementation, optimisation, and reporting of paid social campaigns that deliver revenue, brand growth, and marketing impact.

This role manages end-to-end paid social campaigns — from audience targeting, creative briefing, and budget allocation to performance tracking, testing, and optimisation. It also plays a key role in shaping our paid media approach, supporting the Manager, Social Media role.

This position is a key point of contact for stakeholders within the business to brief, create and execute engaging social content that drives strong brand affinity and revenue for the business.  As a subject matter expert, the Paid Social Media Lead will educate stakeholders on paid social best practice (channels & creative), emerging platform capabilities, and data-driven insights to maximise ROI and campaign performance.

You’ll have –

  • Tertiary degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in paid social campaign management across platforms (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn etc.).
  • Strong understanding of social media marketing, community management and
    content.
  • Demonstrated ability to set KPIs, measure effectiveness, and optimise campaigns for performance outcomes.
  • Strong skills in campaign reporting, analytics tools, and providing actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross functional
teams.
  • Knowledge of creative testing, audience segmentation, and performance-driven content development.
  • An innovative mindset with a track record of adopting new technologies or trialling emerging paid formats.
