Akcelo is a multi award-winning brand experience and innovation company that delivers powerful experiences people love. We fuse creativity with experience design to solve business problems and uncover white-space opportunities for some of the world’s most famous brands and businesses.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Social Strategy Director who will lead social for one of the world’s most iconic brands - McDonald’s, whilst driving social opportunity across some of our other Tier 1 Clients. This is your chance to shape how a cultural powerhouse shows up and behaves across social - helping inspire work that’s fluent in the internet, fan-first, and impossible to ignore.

You’ll help McDonald’s move from speaking like a big corporate brand to connecting fan-to-fan - creating work that sparks participation, earns attention, and drives brand love in culture.

With great progression, the chance to work with the latest technology and some of the world’s most famous brands, the role of the Social Strategy Director includes:

Shape how the brand shows up online.

Lead the social strategy for McDonald’s - defining how it behaves across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms. Defining the role of channel and content approaches that cut-through.

Translate objectives into impact.

Turn business goals into social strategies — connecting brand ambition to platform performance. Giving direction & opportunity to how social can measurably be an integral part of brand performance.

Creative strategy

Translate trends, social listening and insights into provocative creative briefs. Feed in emerging creative formats to inspire new creative thinking that captures attention.

Impacting insights and reporting.

Review campaign data to understand what drives results and deliver actionable reports. Use insights to refine future briefs and creative direction, ensuring learnings translate into both creative and business impact.

Deepen client relationships.

Establish yourself as a key advocate and partner to McDonald’s, being sought out for advice, opinions and expertise, to help shape their business.

Research and trend forecasting.

Identify and translate emerging social trends, creator movements, platform shifts and audience behaviours into actionable brand opportunities.

Create together.

Collaborate across creative, client service, production, and influencer teams — letting ideas get knocked around and rebuilt by others — turning strategy into work people talk about.

Harness Technology.

Know how to sweat social listening & management tools (bonus points for using Sprinklr) to unveil insights, whilst having the finger on the pulse of AI to think about delivering social differently.

Champion The Future of Social.

Inspire our clients, wider teams and the industry on the shifts of social, crafting unique points of view and identifying opportunities that raise the agency profile.

What You’ll Bring:

You’re fluent in the internet.

You live and breathe social — understanding the nuances of platforms, creators, and communities like a native. You know what earns attention and how to turn that into results.

You think creatively and commercially.

You connect brand ambition to platform performance. You’re as comfortable discussing data and CPMs as you are debating creative hooks and visual tone.

You connect culture to creativity.

You can read culture, spot signals early, and turn them into creative fuel that drives meaningful participation.

You inspire creative craft.

You know what makes ideas travel — and you know how to brief, build, and refine them with creators and creative teams.

You embrace what’s next.

You’re energised by new tools, tech, and formats — using innovation and experimentation to push creative thinking further.

Sound like something that you would love to be a part of?

We also offer employees benefits like Flex Fridays, gym memberships, free breakfast, regular social events, annual ski trips and more.

Akcelo is committed to nurturing, creating and building a diverse environment. We welcome all applications from all walks of life.
