THE OPPORTUNITY

This role suits a versatile developer who’s comfortable building customer-facing features and contributing to the infrastructure that powers them. It involves designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining applications and CI/CD end-to-end, while championing clean, scalable, and reliable code. A great opportunity for someone passionate about delivering high-quality software that supports next-level digital experiences.
This will be a full time, 12 month contract with the view to be made permanent based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build scalable APIs, backend services, and UIs with React (TypeScript) and server-side tools like Node.js, Go, or Python. Write clean, tested code with unit, integration, and end-to-end coverage. Work closely with product and design to turn ideas into working features.
- Manage build-and-release pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins. Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Run containerized apps on Kubernetes, ECS, or Nomad. Automate deployments with Helm or Argo CD, and set up monitoring, logging, alerting, and SLOs using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki, and PagerDuty.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS, GCP, or Azure. Implement security best practices with strict IAM policies, secure secrets management, and automated security checks in the pipeline.
ABOUT YOU
- 1+ years building and maintaining production web applications.
- Proficient in one modern front-end framework: React, Vue, Svelte, or AngularExperience in building and maintaining databases to support ML/AI model development.
- Proficient in one back-end language: Node.js/TypeScript, Go, Python, Java, or C#
- Experience with private and public cloud platforms, with a solid understanding of services like AWS S3, EMR, Redshift, Glue, and Athena.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker). Production experience with Kubernetes (plus Helm/Kustomize) is a plus
- Experience with At least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with Databases (SQL/NoSQL), APIs (REST/gRPC), Event streaming platforms (Kafka, SNS/SQS, or Pub/Sub).
- Comfortable with Linux CLI, shell scripting, Git workflows.
