Sentral is a trusted cloud-based software provider managing school administration, student data and parent engagement for over 3,000 schools across Australia. ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you an experienced software developer with a passion for innovation and excellence? At Sentral, we empower educators with the tools they need to deliver great learning outcomes. As a Software Developer, you’ll play a key role in the evolution of our product suite—designing, building, and improving applications that are used by thousands of schools across the country.

You won’t just be writing code—you’ll be part of a cross-functional team that takes full ownership of its work from idea to delivery. You’ll help shape the future of our products, work closely with stakeholders, and continuously improve the way we build software.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and implementing product enhancements in a collaborative, agile team.

  • Embedding quality into everything you build—proactively maintaining and improving existing features.

  • Staying current with modern development practices and technology trends to keep our products ahead of the curve.

  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure customer needs are met with market-fit solutions.

  • Supporting a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

SALARY

The for this role is $120, 000 per annum + superannuation. 

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a teammate who will stand by our values and bring them to life. A brand ambassador who collaborates, partners and stands with us.

You will bring:

  • 3 + years commercial experience in software development;

  • Solid experience with PHP, JavaScript, Angular, and MySQL.

  • Strong knowledge of software development patterns (OOP, MVC, etc.).

  • A working understanding of agile methodologies and how to deliver iteratively.

  • Confidence collaborating across departments and communicating technical ideas clearly.

  • A curious mindset and the drive to stay on top of emerging tech trends.

  • Organised, thoughtful, and proactive in problem-solving.

Please note that you must have:

  

  • Full work rights in Australia  

  • Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check  

  • Ability to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check
