Your role:

Data is what drives research and trading at VivCourt. It spans everything from system health metrics and fine-grained events deep within our trading infrastructure, to financial market data and the audit trails that support our business. Our Data Engineering team are the stewards of this critical infrastructure, ensuring the data at the heart of VivCourt’s operations is captured, retained, and delivered reliably at scale.

As an engineer in the team, you will help design, build, and support the systems that make this possible. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and maintaining real-time data pipelines that process billions of events per day.
  • Developing and supporting a bespoke set of tools and frameworks that bolster our R&D efforts.
  • Improving the accuracy and completeness of data through automated processes
  • Designing and maintaining data models to make complex datasets accessible
  • Managing the orchestration and scheduling of data workflows, (research) jobs, and dependencies at scale
  • Collaborating with teams across the business to ensure they have the information and tools they need.

This is an opportunity to work on high-scale, high-impact systems that support decision-making across research, trading, engineering, and the wider business.

Who We’re Looking For
  • An Engineer who thrives in high-performance environments
  • 5+ years in professional environments, ideally in a smaller company or fast-moving teams
  • Pragmatic, evidence-driven, and focused on outcomes
  • Enjoys working closely with users and building systems that get used
  • Trading or financial systems experience is a plus, not a requirement
  • Shows technical leadership through ownership, sound judgment, and lifting the capability of others.
Skills & Experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Python, Go or C++
  • Experience with relational and time-series databases.
  • Proficiency developing and deploying software in a Linux environment
  • Exposure to networking concepts and protocols.
  • Nice to have: experience working with data scientists and/or quants
