About the role:

Lendi Group is seeking an full stack/front end focussed Software Engineer for one of our product groups.

The Partner Products team aims to integrate and build new products with our strategic partners and lender partners. Among the existing product suite are Approval Confidence, Approvals on Platform, Conveyancing, and Aussie products. We are also looking at new partnerships to drive growth in new verticals to create new revenue streams.

You will be reporting to the Partner Products Team Leader, working side-by-side with the high-performing, knowledgeable, and fun Partner Products team members.
This role is based in Sydney. 

Job Description

  • Build an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interface, specifically designed to empower borrowers. This platform will guide users through mortgage options to find the perfect match for their unique circumstances. 
  • Develop a suite of tools that enhance productivity and efficiency for our brokers
  • Partner with our Product/UX team to create visual and interaction designs that resonate with our customers, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. 
  • Take charge of major segments of our system end to end, demonstrating expertise in both design and delivery. Provide stable, high-quality solutions that stand the test of time. 
  • Build robust and scalable software as an integral member of our engineering team. Lay the foundation for a resilient and evolving technological framework. 
  • Commit to writing clean, maintainable code. Prioritise practices that support continuous integration and deployment, adhering to the highest standards and guidelines in software development. 
  • Contribute to the success of a dynamic, cross-functional Agile team. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment. 
  • Embrace full ownership of the code you and your team develop. Be proactive in debugging, monitoring, and ensuring the utmost reliability in our production environment. 
  • Articulate ideas and convey complex information clearly to your team and other teams, including major banks and insurers. 

Leveraging AI for Innovation 

  • Incorporate AI-driven capabilities where they add the most value, enhancing user experience, automation, and decision-making processes. 
  • Stay ahead of AI advancements—evaluate and integrate AI tools, agents, and vendor solutions to improve our products and workflows. 
  • Drive AI-powered initiatives from concept to production, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and impactful. 
  • Champion AI adoption across teams, helping build company-wide expertise and ensuring practical, effective applications of AI technology. 

Qualifications

Frontend Development 

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS. 
  • Deep experience with React and Redux. 
  • Familiarity with CSS-in-JS frameworks like Styled Components or Emotion. 
  • Understanding of webpack configurations is a plus. 
  • Experience working with atomic design and collaborating with UX designers. 

Backend Development & APIs 

  • Strong experience in Node.js (TypeScript) for building scalable backend services. 
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs. 
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and backend scalability best practices. 

Cloud & Distributed Systems 

  • Experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, ECS, API Gateway). 
  • Experience with Kafka or alternative event-driven messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, Google Pub/Sub). 
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time data processing. 

Performance & Security

  • Proficiency in web scalability, security, and performance optimization. 
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, and API security standards.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have) 

  • Experience with Java (Kotlin) and Python, or a willingness to learn new languages.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud, OCR, or other AI-related technologies. 
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and agents (e.g., Claude, Bedrock). 
  • Understanding of AI technologies, including text/image generation, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and multi-agent systems. 
  • Experience integrating AI vendors into an enterprise ecosystem.
