Your Impact

Join Entain as a Software Engineer – Trading Solutions (Simulations) and play a vital role in developing high-performing systems that model and simulate real-world sporting and wagering outcomes.

You’ll design, build, and optimise simulation software that enables our trading teams to make smarter, faster, and more accurate decisions — directly impacting the performance of our market-leading platforms. Your work will power the insights, probabilities, and products that keep Entain at the forefront of the industry.

This is your opportunity to blend software engineering excellence with mathematical precision and problem-solving creativity — shaping technology that defines the future of sports trading.

A Day in the Life

Based in our vibrant Bowen Hills office or working remotely within Australia, you’ll be part of a tight-knit, high-impact Trading Solutions Delivery team. Every day brings a mix of collaboration and focus: designing systems, solving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring our simulations deliver real-world accuracy and scalability.

You’ll partner closely with developers, product managers, traders, and data specialists — bridging technology and sports in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where precision matters.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain simulation systems that model sporting event outcomes and support advanced trading strategies.
  • Take ownership of Monte Carlo simulation–based engineering problems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Write well-structured, testable, and efficient code that meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product, Trading, and Engineering to deliver software that enhances market-making and pricing systems.
  • Build and evolve robust backend services in Golang, ensuring seamless integration across web, mobile, and API layers.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and deployment processes using tools such as GitLab, ArgoCD, and Spinnaker.
  • Partner with Quality Engineers to ensure automation, repeatability, and early defect detection across the development lifecycle.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement — sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and mentoring peers.
  • Drive system reliability by identifying risks, optimising for scalability, and enhancing performance across distributed systems.
Your Strengths
  • Proven experience in software engineering within complex, enterprise environments.
  • Deep technical expertise in Golang development and distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Monte Carlo simulations and statistical modelling for sporting event outcomes.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, MongoDB, and scalable microservice architectures.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, agile delivery, and modern engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities — with a passion for innovation.
  • Excellent collaborator and communicator, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of wagering, trading, or real-time sports systems is highly desirable.
