As a Software Engineer, you will be working closely with your peers, product, design and leadership to build amazing products and features for the Deputy platform, delivering services and products to millions of users and businesses from small & medium to enterprise.



Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and deliver software solutions for product features - with consideration to high performance, high-quality systems and applications using modern industry best practices.
  • Ensure the quality of your work through comprehensive testing, including writing automated tests. Aim for high test coverage and proactively address security and performance concerns..
  • Work independently to gather requirements for ambiguous problems, and collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to determine requirements for semi well-defined problems
  • Write simple, efficient, self-documented modular high-quality code that follows best practices and improves the overall codebase. Apply advanced knowledge of programming languages and frameworks used in your domain.
  • Investigate debug and solve issues within a broader context.
  • Engage confidently in technical discussions, contributing to decision-making sessions and influencing the team with your expertise. Contribute to process improvement through documentation, design reviews, pair programming, code review and discussions

Skills & Experience

  • You are a skilful engineer with high standards and a passion for quality backed by 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals: algorithms and data structures, with the ability to understand when to apply them to complex problems..
  • Experience implementing responsive designs into software by developing reusable components with JavaScript, HTML and CSS 
  • Proficiency in JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular. Advanced knowledge of CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience in working with various APIs, understanding how systems and microservices integrate with each other.
