As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) Technology - Markets Technology team , you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Collaborate with front office, operations, and other technology teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment on product specifications.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and documentation to track progress and ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of new products to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve any technical or operational issues that may arise during the onboarding process.
- Provide ongoing support and training to stakeholders on new product features and functionalities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve onboarding processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding using the following technology stack: Python, JavaScript, Java, Junit, Maven, Hibernate, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Batch
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of equity derivatives products, the structure and the risk associated.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Familiarity with one or more DBMS like Oracle, MySQL, or others
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software tools (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java)
