What’s the role?

We are seeking a Sydney-based Software Engineer to join our Policy team – the primary entry point for customer acquisition and the sales tools used by brokers across the Aussie and Lendi businesses. This team owns and optimises key areas of our broker tooling and lender products, including deal building, customer assessments, credit scoring, servicing calculators, and automated application condition checks.

Job Description

  • Play an integral part in influencing the engineering team’s rhythm, culture and processes which could positively impact architecture and design, coding, deployment, and support.
  • Be part of a team that is responsible for integral parts of the system, designing and delivering robust and scalable solutions.
  • Own the code you and your team build, which means supporting debugging and monitoring in production.
  • Write clean, maintainable code that is suitable for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Work with our Product/UX team to imagine the visual and interaction patterns appropriate for our customers.
  • Grow your product, technical, and soft skills as part of the Policy cross-functional team.
  • Help us continuously improve the team’s ways of working and processes.

Qualifications

  • 4-5 yrs experience working either in a full-stack capacity or as a back-end specialist with some experience or exposure to front-end and/or operations.
  • Experience with automated testing, in legacy code and/or greenfield scenarios.
  • Have delivered self-testing code, to production using a language such as Kotlin, Java, Scala, Python.
  • Previous experience, or interest in, building message or event driven systems (Kafka), and web APIs (HTTP/REST/Graph QL).
  • Previous experience, or interest in, working in a collaborative environment where you developed understanding of both business and technical domains, perhaps with collaborative modelling/design, BDD, DDD or similar approach.
  • Exposure to, or hands-on experience using, AI-powered tools (such as code assistants, chatbots, or productivity apps) to support and enhance engineering tasks.
