In Sydney a stellar engineering team, within the Digital Health Technology Group of ResMed, is advancing digital solutions that manage, monitor and support patient’s health needs in over 140 different countries.

 

Let's talk about the Team:

 

We are a small cross-functional product team with a broad range of responsibilities and duties. We collaborate with product managers and other development teams globally across the Digital Health Technology group of ResMed. We’re passionate about solving problems across the entire software development lifecycle – whether that’s investigating new technologies, frameworks, and cloud services, developing new features, improving our CI/CD pipelines and test automation, or figuring out how to better automate our release process. We’re always up for a challenge and love learning new things!

 

Let's talk about you:

 

We’re looking for a Full-stack engineer who is ready to dive in and work on a variety of tasks including frontend and backend development as well as dev-ops and infrastructure related tasks. You’ll be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team and will be willing to lend your talents and experience to other team members when they need it.

 

We are not looking for a unicorn. If you do not have some of the skills mentioned below its fine as long as you show as you have the passion to learn and adapt.

Please note- this role is based in Sydney and ideal for the candidates based out in Sydney.

Some of the tasks you’ll be performing include:

·        Expanding on the existing frameworks and services to implement new features and innovate on our software products

·        Designing and architecting new microservices and micro-frontends.

·        Working with others to design, implement and support our AWS infrastructure and services

·        Extending our automated unit testing and integration testing frameworks

·        Implement security and performance improvements to our services

·        Production support (occasionally)

 

Let's t talk about required skills and experience:

·        2+ years of software engineering experience with an object-oriented language, preferably Java or at least willingness to learn and work with Java (We use JDK 11)

·        Experience with a frontend client-side framework, preferably Angular

·        Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills

·        Solid ability in writing clean maintainable code

·        Strong problem solving and analytical skills

·        Experience writing automated tests

·        Experience with a cloud platform, preferably AWS

·        Frameworks: Spring Boot, Angular (ideal)

·        Languages: Java (currently our primary language), Javascript/Typescript, Python

·        Amazon Web Services (AWS). Particularly interest or experience in ECS, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, OpenSearch, AmazonMQ.

·        AWS certifications are a bonus

·        Experience or willingness to work with both relational and NoSQL databases

·        CI/CD pipeline tools and infrastructure (preferably experience in Jenkins, Terraform, AWS CodeBuild and AWS CodePipeline)

·        Interest in digital health and medical devices

·        Interests with microservice and micro-frontend architectures
