About the role

We are seeking a Sydney based Software Engineer to join our Aussie Homes Product team – the crew building the future for Buyer’s Agents and Real Estate Agents across Australia. Whether it's simplifying listings, supercharging workflows, or making client dreams easier to close, this team is here to turn property pain points into power tools.

Job Description

 

  • Play an integral part in influencing the engineering team’s rhythm, culture and processes which could positively impact architecture and design, coding, deployment, and support.
  • Be part of a team that is responsible for integral parts of the system, designing and delivering robust and scalable solutions.
  • Own the code you and your team build, which means supporting debugging and monitoring in production.
  • Write clean, maintainable code that is suitable for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Work with our Product/UX team to imagine the visual and interaction patterns appropriate for our customers.
  • Grow your product, technical, and soft skills as part of the Acquire cross-functional team.
  • Help us continuously improve the team’s ways of working and processes.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in ReactJS and NodeJS (we use Typescript)
  • Experience with API development, including RESTful services, schema-first design, GraphQL, webhooks, and Auth (Auth0, JWT)
  • Proficient understanding of Git and source code management tools such as BitBucket or GitHub.
  • Strong interest in learning and writing different types of automated tests such as unit, integration, performance, and others.
  • Having previously worked in a similar role as part of an agile team.
  • Exposure to, or hands-on experience using AI-powered tools (such as code assistants, chatbots, or productivity apps) to support and enhance engineering tasks.
  • Nice to have: Experience with Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes
