As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll be exposed to both new and current technology while building innovative solutions to overcome high-volume obstacles and deliver player value.

Applying to this role will provide eligibility for all software engineering roles open across our products. We will do our best to match you with a product and team that fits your interests and experience, but note that it also depends on availability. 

The internship will be in person at Riot Games Sydney office. 

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with other developers to create features for Central Tech, League of Legends, Team Fight Tactics, or VALORANT
  • Build back-end services to allow our games to take advantage of shared social, client and platform features
  • Build and support engine and gameplay features
  • Build tools and automation to empower developers (e.g artists, designers) to develop features for our games
  • Learn to operate services on a global scale for millions of players 
  • Build and maintain SDKs and APIs that are used by internal game customers to power their games

Required Qualifications:

  • Available to work full-time with a hybrid model 4 days a week in our Sydney office and 1 day a week from home
  • Available to work full-time hours for the 16-week internship duration
  • Eligible to work in Australia full-time
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • C++ knowledge and/or experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with software development best practices like unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, CI/CD
  • Knowledge and/or experience with scripting languages
  • Experience using game engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal)

We will certainly be looking at your past studies and experience, but for this role, we also look for dedicated people with a personal relationship with games.
