About CES

Accelerating the transition to a circular economy

We are proud to be an active contributor in the circular economy through container deposit schemes (10c refund for eligible drink containers). We help our scheme partners to recycle close to 10 million drink containers every day, diverting them from landfill into the circular economy.

Our technology and services enable the circular lifecycle of drink containers. We have a large in-house software engineering team using modern technology stacks to develop and support our products. As well as a suite of SaaS products, our range of business services includes accounting, payments, brand & marketing, materials trading, HR, customer service and support.

CES was formed in 2017 as a joint venture between Lion and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and has grown rapidly. We are headquartered in North Sydney, near public transport with beautiful harbour views. Our teams are passionate about our mission to ensure valuable materials are recycled and not wasted. We provide an inclusive culture, hybrid and flexible working and career development to bring the best out in our people.

Originally known as Container Exchange Services, we have rebranded to Circular Economy Systems to recognise our vision to be leaders in the transition to a circular economy.

About the role

This is a hands-on Solution Architect role focused on designing and shaping CES’s future-state platform across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Power Platform and Azure.

You will own the end-to-end solution architecture as we transform a number of legacy custom-built systems into a cohesive, scalable Microsoft ecosystem. This includes positioning Dynamics F&O as the core transactional engine, Power Platform as the orchestration and experience layer and Azure services as the integration and extensibility foundation.

You will work closely with internal product, engineering, data and finance leaders, alongside external delivery partners, to ensure solutions are robust, pragmatic and built for scale.

Key Deliverables

  • Own the end-to-end architecture across F&O, Power Platform and Azure

  • Design scalable integration patterns using services such as API Management, Logic Apps

  • Architect Power Platform solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Dataverse

  • Lead the technical design for a high-volume payments and financial processing platform

  • Define architectural standards, patterns and guardrails

  • Partner with functional team and vendors to shape detailed solution designs

  • Work with the Data team to design data flows into Snowflake for analytics and reporting

  • Shape longer-term platform roadmaps with Product and business stakeholders

About you

  • 5+ years of Solution Architect experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and Power Platform

  • Strong experience designing end-to-end architectures, not just configuring components

  • Deep understanding of integrations, data flows, security, environments, and non-functional requirements

  • Experience with Azure integration services such as API Management and Logic Apps

  • Comfortable operating hands-on and challenging vendors on technical design

  • Experience in complex migrations as part of transformations

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills

Our Values

  • Scheme success is our success:
Our mission is to accelerate recycling rates. We make decisions in the best interest of all schemes to maximise our impact for individuals, community, and the environment.

  • Win as a Team:
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Great things are achieved in teams that combine the right expertise and leadership.

  • Make a Difference:
Take initiative, take ownership. Openly communicate the outcome you want and go make it happen!

  • Be Engaged:
Reflect your passion in your work, no matter the task or challenge. Your engagement is a source of inspiration to your peers.

  • Do the Right Thing:
Do the right thing by others and the company, and the rest will follow. Seek win-win outcomes, listen, act inclusively, and always aim for better.

What you need to know about the Sydney Tech Scene

From opera to comedy shows, the Sydney Opera House hosts more than 1,600 performances a year, yet its entertainment sector isn't the only one taking center stage. The city's tech sector has earned a reputation as one of the fastest-growing in the region. More specifically, its IT sector stands out as the country's third-largest, growing at twice the rate of overall employment in the past decade as businesses continue to digitize their operations to stay competitive.
