The Solutions Architect role involves designing network solutions, collaborating with sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include technical presentations, proposal crafting, and documentation creation.
About Us
There’s something special about working for a company like Macquarie Telecom. We’re not the biggest in the industry, where you’re just a number. We’re not tiny enough that you’ve never heard of us. We’re in that sweet spot where we’re strong enough to punch above our weight. And we definitely do! Because of this, you have the opportunity to make a difference.
As a highly skilled and commercially astute Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our data network, cloud and security solutions portfolio. You will work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to achieve monthly sales revenue targets, as well as assisting in the retention of current customers by designing and presenting tailored solutions that meet or exceed their complex and changing needs.
What you'll be doing
- Design end-to-end network and voice solutions including SD-WAN, SD-LAN, SIP, hosted voice, and MPLS/Internet services.
- Translate customer business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectures.
- Partner with account executives to understand customer needs and craft compelling technical proposals.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demos, and proof-of-concepts to C-level and technical stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them through network transformation and cloud adoption journeys.
- Provide technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and tenders.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence roadmap based on customer feedback.
- Support enablement of internal sales teams on new technologies and solution positioning.
- Produce high-quality solution documentation, including HLDs, BoMs, and integration guides.
- Ensure smooth handover to delivery and operations teams post-sale.
Your ideal skills and experience
- Strong knowledge of SD-WAN (e.g., Velo, Netskope, Fortinet, VMware) and SD-LAN (Juniper MIST) technologies.
- Deep understanding of voice solutions including SIP, hosted PBX, UCaaS, and legacy voice migration.
- Familiarity with carrier-grade data services (MPLS, Ethernet, nbn, 5G etc).
- 5+ years in a customer-facing technical pre-sales or solution architecture role within the telecommunications or managed services industry.
- Good to have: Certifications in CCNP/CCIE, Netskope Essentials, Netskope, Fortinet NSE, VMware VCP-NV, or equivalent/s.
