About the Department:
APAC Institutional Client Business (ICB) is responsible for understanding the overall strategic, investment and risk management needs of the largest Institutions and translating these into commercial opportunities for our business. The team works with a wide range of clients including sovereign wealth funds, public and corporate pension funds, insurers, and banks, to offer the full range of BlackRock products and solutions.
We partner with clients to build bespoke solutions that meet their specific needs, backed by our market-leading in-house technology and risk analytics. The team is based across APAC in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Australia, South Korea and Japan, and works closely with colleagues around the globe to deliver the best of BlackRock to APAC Institutional investors.
Role Description:
The individual in this role will be responsible for developing and executing a detailed sales strategy in partnership with the iShares team to promote and extend the usage of iShares by clients, both institutional and wealth, in South Korea. The primary target audience will include Asset Managers, Insurance Firms, Pensions, Government Entities, Banks, and Securities firms. The position will be based in Seoul and reports to the Head of iShares Sales, South Korea who is based in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the iShares team to identify and target existing and potential clients within the segment/ channel clients in South Korea.
Raise the profile and usage of iShares products within the targeted client base.
Deliver AUM and revenue targets for the business within the channels in the South Korean business.
Work with iShares and wider BlackRock teams in Asia to maximize success. Leverage BlackRock resources to meet client needs and ensure those resources are brought to bear to maximize results in an efficient, resource-considered manner.
Provide and deliver presentations for workshops, seminars and individual client meetings as appropriate to represent iShares and build a broader understanding and usage of iShares.
Monitor ongoing client structure, investment objectives, benchmarks, progress and holdings.
Provide top market intelligence to help guide regional strategy, current product enhancement efforts, as well as new product development initiatives.
Work closely with the Global & Regional iShares and BlackRock teams to unlock the potential within South Korea and co-ordinate cross-selling opportunities within BlackRock group.
The role will partner closely with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Client Business, Global Product Solutions, Global Markets and Marketing.
Ensure the distribution strategy is closely aligned to the market environment to capitalize on investment trends, regulatory tailwinds, tactical portfolio shifts, etc.
Support developing a plan around digital assets to ensure BlackRock’s pioneering role in developing this market segment can be executed when the Korean market is ready.
Represent BlackRock in the industry through public speaking and organizing industry events/forums
Provide administrative and operational support, including handling required paperwork and documentation.

To be successful, the right candidate must be a self-starter but able to balance independence with a team-based approach. He/she must be comfortable in a global environment, working closely with multiple partner teams, ensuring rigorous compliance and control and leveraging resources across the firm. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in a high-quality multi-product investment or wealth management firm and will have proven expertise in selling investment products to sophisticated clients.
Self-motivated individual, with a commitment to excellence.
Must possess outstanding relationship management skills and experience, along with a high standard of public speaking/presentation experience and in possession of any locally required licenses.
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
A strong team player, who can collaborate credibly internally to leverage the Firm’s resources and global infrastructure to deliver BlackRock/iShares solutions to meet clients’ needs.
Uncompromising high standards of personal and professional integrity to develop deep local relationships and become a trusted advisor to BlackRock’s clients in the region.
Ability to focus and prioritize the key initiatives across a broad range of opportunities and relationships, as an extension of the goals set forth by distribution management.
Experience in managing relationships with multi-level contacts, externally and internally will be key to the success of this role. The ability to be both a consultative and strategic seller is also of paramount importance.
Understanding of the regulatory requirement in the region and sense of the medium and long-term opportunities for iShares.
Significant investment product knowledge to provide credible explanations to senior segment clients.
Experience with index or index linked fund products and/or structured/derivatives products will be a distinct advantage.
Ideally be familiar with ETFs, their mechanics and application
Demonstrate strong working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare analysis, reports, and client‑ready materials.
BA/BS degree in related field (Economics, Finance or Accounting); MBA or CFA is preferred.
Language skills: Korean/Native, English/Strong proficiency in both written and spoken business English
