Our Finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate financial operations and plays a crucial role in managing the Firm’s financial health. Our team handles a wide range of financial activities including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, partner compensation, payroll, treasury and cash flow management to support the Firm’s strategic goals. We are responsible for inventory management including billing and collections, and analysis of client, matter and timekeeper profitability. We oversee statutory accounting and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Finance team also prepares financial statements, reports and analysis to provide insights into the Firm’s financial performance. We work closely with other functions to monitor expenses, optimize financial processes and implement cost-saving initiatives. Through meticulous financial management and strategic planning, the Finance team ensures the Firm’s financial stability and supports its growth objectives.

The Specialist, Payroll provides professional support and guidance to our Core Finance team on a range of matters, including invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and credit management. The incumbent collaborates with various teams within the Firm to provide timely resolutions to issues, such as payment discrepancies or overdue accounts. The Specialist, Payroll is instrumental in conducting detailed analysis and investigation to identify solutions and improvements to existing processes.


The roles and responsibilities of this job include:


  • Process accurate and timely Australia and Hong Kong payroll through ADP.
  • Review timesheets, calculate pro-rated pay, leave payments, deductions and payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain payroll, banking and tax records and resolve payroll-report discrepancies.
  • Liaise with ADP and respond to payroll enquiries from employees, managers and partners.
  • Prepare payroll journals, vouchers and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure compliance with superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, FBT, GST and related obligations.
  • Prepare, process and reconcile partner compensation payments and payslips.
  • Support finance reporting, reconciliations, payment approvals and cross-functional coordination.

Skills and experience we are looking for:


  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in payroll processing and reconciliations.
  • Accounting/Finance experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook 2007.
  • Experience in ADP payroll system including ADP Reporting, ADP GL and related functionality.
  • Good written and verbal skills, ability to communicate and articulate payroll procedures to management.
  • Ability to work well both independently in a team environment, effectively manage time and tight deadlines and able to multitask.
  • Additional hours may be required around payroll and other reporting deadlines during payroll processing weeks in addition to quarterly and year-end deadlines.
