As the Sr. Data Operations Engineer, you will run & maintain scalable & robust data platforms for the Integration Platform team. This includes the maintenance and operations for messaging and integration systems like TIBCO Enterprise Message Services (EMS) and BusinessWoks.
This is a hands-on operations role with some focus on design and build that ensures the high availability, resilience and security of our real-time systems.
Additionally, this role will also be involved in the maintenance of real-time data streaming, distribution and secure file transfer platforms like Confluent Platform, CrushFTP etc.
The operations aspect of the role will cover incident response, including root cause analysis and resolution.
What you’ll do:
Deploy, operate and manage messaging and integration platforms like TIBCO EMS, TIBCO BusinessWorks.
Perform day-to-day platform operations like upgrades, scaling, patching & monitoring via CI/CD pipelines.
Remediate aged asset and security risks by migration of ASX data distribution platforms to new architecture.
Build out standard operating procedures, fulfil service requests, resolve incidents and analyse problems.
Additionally, be involved in the operation data streaming and distribution platforms – Confluent Platform, CrushFTP in a hybrid environment consisting of a mix of on-prem & cloud environments.
Build & maintain DevOps pipelines & practices to streamline the development, testing, and deployment processes of the Integration Platform
Work with the wider Data & Integration team and other cross-functional teams to operate, manage & maintain ASX’s Data platforms.
Configure, deploy and manage observability components for operational reporting and capacity management of ASX’s data platforms using tools like OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow Observability, Grafana, ELK etc.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders on updates, challenges & solutions.
Work closely with the development and support teams to effectively support, enhance and maintain technical solutions.
Adhere to change management and other operational policies.
Participate in intraday and after-hours support arrangements.
What you’ve done:
Successfully deployed and operated TIBCO EMS and BusinessWorks in a Production environment.
Have experience in building, deploying and managing services in a Cloud environment using DevOps tooling.
Have experience as a platform engineer with Unix, Windows knowledge and scripting using Shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python etc.
Excellent technical & problem-solving skills.
Proven record of delivering technical solutions that meet set requirements.
Operated in, or developed reasonable understanding of, finance services.
Exposure to enterprise management tools.
And if you’ve got some of this, even better:
Experience working in a hybrid environment with a mix of Cloud and On-Prem services
ServiceNow/OpenTelemetry/Grafana/Telegraf/InfluxDB/ELK for monitoring & dash-boarding.
Exposure to API Gateway tools like Apigee.
Agile experience.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform/CloudFormation.
Familiarity with Databases like MS SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle.
Familiarity as a user with automated service desk, incident, problem and change management tools.
Familiarity with Automated Testing Tools.
