As a Senior Engineer, Process Automation at Moderna, you will play a critical role in supporting our advanced GxP manufacturing operations. Working with cutting-edge automation technologies - including Aveva System Platform, Rockwell Automation ControlLogix, DeltaV, Syncade, Apprentice Tempo, and Aveva PI Historian - you will help ensure the reliable operation of the systems that power the manufacture of our transformative mRNA medicines. This is an opportunity to apply your automation expertise in a highly innovative environment while contributing directly to our mission of delivering therapies to patients around the world.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across GxP Process Automation Systems, including DeltaV and Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ensuring reliable and efficient manufacturing operations.

  • Support the operation of Moderna's GxP manufacturing automation systems, including Aveva System Platform, Rockwell Automation ControlLogix, DeltaV, Syncade, Apprentice Tempo, and Aveva PI Historian.

  • Foster and sustain a culture of compliance, ensuring regulatory and quality standards are embedded in both the design of automation solutions and the day-to-day operation and maintenance of manufacturing systems.

  • Provide technical leadership through coaching and mentoring junior engineers, helping to build capability and strengthen engineering excellence across the team.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technology discipline.

  • 5-10 years working with process automation systems.

  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner to various stakeholders.

  • Flexibility to occasionally cover off-hours, holidays, and weekends as necessary.

  • Proficiency in IT networking, and OT with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize.

  • Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes and equipment.

  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills and technologies.
