The global strategic sourcing team is seeking a highly experienced sourcing manager with a passion for operational excellence and driving transformational change. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about sourcing high-quality products and services, and who can deliver impactful initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance strategic processes. This role plays a critical part in influencing company operating costs, optimising key contracts, and enabling global growth, including across Europe. The right candidate will be one who is constantly driving themselves towards completing the next challenge and has a strong desire for process adherence and improvement.  If you are a hands-on, experienced manager who is comfortable in a fast-paced and global environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The senior manager will be based in Sydney, Australia, in a hybrid position of maximum two days working from home and minimum three days in the office. Key responsibilities include driving operational excellence within the global strategic sourcing team and the wider supply chain by leading change initiatives, enabling continuous improvement, and enhancing process efficiency and control effectiveness. This individual will also play a key role in strengthening contracting practices to maximise cost efficiency, service quality, and risk mitigation—addressing geopolitical, legislative, and supply chain resiliency factors. The position requires advanced skills in data analysis and data management for effective problem-solving. You will work side by side with the engineering, operations and sourcing teams to achieve objectives relating to cost, operations, quality, resiliency in the supply chain, and compliance with ethical sourcing practices. You will also work closely with program teams to report status, risks, and deliverables to the larger group.

What you’ll do
  • Provide guidance and influence across procurement, operations, and sourcing functions in a cross-functional environment
  • Project manage major sourcing initiatives such as refurbishment strategies, nearshoring strategies, inventory management strategies, global tariff mitigation strategies, and regionalized product strategies across the Americas and Europe
  • Collaborate effectively with key corporate partners including design studios, product management, engineering, NPI, operations, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing teams
  • Support the development of business case budgets for bill of materials and capex tooling in NPI
  • Analyze historical data to set budget pricing based on technology stack, design specifications, and marketing requirements
  • Develop rough order of magnitude forecasting for budgeting and ensure alignment with project and program goals for operational excellence
  • Create project dashboards that highlight risks, timelines, responsibilities, and budget alignment
  • Lead operational excellence projects and ensure return-on-investment and budget targets are achieved
  • Build a pipeline of operational excellence initiatives that support the company’s long-term goals
  • Proactively escalate and address key issues impacting cost, timelines, or project outcomes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance sourcing strategies for NPI projects, including dual sourcing, justification for sole sourcing, and competitive bidding
  • Collaborate with advanced engineering to align upcoming project opportunities with sourcing strategies and maintain visibility through open project dashboards

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 7 years of experience within Engineering, Project Management, NPI, or Sourcing related to hardware, preferably in mechanical and electronic fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain functions. Experience in strategic sourcing, product commodity management, manufacturing supply chain, and logistics.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Champion change and innovation, stimulate creativity and innovation in others and have a track record of driving transformational outcomes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience in publishing actionable insights.
  • Formal training in negotiation and contract management; demonstrated ability to manage commercial impact.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in an evolving and fast paced global environment.
  • Strong process discipline with expertise in RFI, RFQ, and RFP procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business-related discipline required.
  • MBA preferred; certifications in project management or supply chain are a plus.
