Medical
- Ensure that the medical and scientific information provided is evidence-based and fair balanced in accordance with prevailing global and local SOPs. Ensure that all inquiries are handled in accordance with Pfizer standards.
- Researches and analyses scientific information to answer escalated medical inquiries from healthcare professionals in accordance with Pfizer and local regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain collection of global & local scientific response documents for designated portfolio/therapy area in accordance with Pfizer MI standards and local regulations based on customer needs.
- Ensures the availability, accuracy and maintenance of medical content on MI digital platforms.
- Proactively participate in or lead regional therapy area teams & global product teams and significantly contribute to the development of regional and global medical information content about Pfizer medicines.
- As needed, support Medical Information frontline activities by
- Ensuring that frontline personnel have necessary resources to appropriately meet customer needs and expectations.
- Directly receiving and responding to medical inquiries as necessary.
- Proactively participate in or lead local, regional and global initiatives aimed at developing new capabilities and improving efficiencies.
- Represents MI on relevant Product/Therapy Area cross-functional teams. Interprets and communicates trends and business insights based on analysis of inquiries to Product/Therapy Area teams.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders such as Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Drug Safety.
- Participates in mentoring, coaching, and training of new and existing colleagues.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for adherence of promotional and medical content with local laws and industry codes as applicable.
- Reviews materials in compliance with applicable SOPs and work instructions.
- Ensures the scientific claim is fully substantiated by the cited references.
- Meaningfully contribute to cross-functional teams in:
- the development of promotional materials at various stages of development
- formulating the response to any code complaints or formulation of complaints against competitors
- the development brand plans and PoA meetings as appropriate
- Serves as a principal contact for audit and inspection teams in relation to compliance of promotional materials and medical content with applicable regulations, codes and company policies. Provides input into development of relevant policies, SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Actively contributes to new innovative solutions to improve scientific content review and approval process and to resolve problems based on comprehensive business & scientific knowledge.
- Actively participates or leads/co-leads local and/or global projects that have an impact beyond the function and/or the country.
- Contribute to mentoring, coaching and training of new and existing colleagues within the team.
- Contribute to resolving issues related to the day-to-day work, proposes recommendations and drives implementation of required changes, new processes, etc.
- Contribute to strategic partnerships with relevant cross-functional teams with a view to sustaining and identifying new ways for Medical to add value to the Pfizer business.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical:
- Major in medicine, pharmacy or science with an appropriate life science major preferred. Degrees from other relevant disciplines also considered.
- More than 2 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a Medical Information, Medical Affairs or related function.
- Well versed in reviewing promotional materials and medical content & the promotional complaints process.
- Experience with MI systems used for information requests and content management preferable, and skilled at utilizing medical literature and drug information databases
- Demonstrates excellent collaboration, interpersonal & relationship management skills with ability to influence and negotiate outcomes. Experience working in cross-functional teams highly preferred.
- Ability to work in a virtual work environment.
- Proficient at critically evaluating literature and writing/summarizing clinical and scientific data.
- Exhibits strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Effectively deals with ambiguity and adapts quickly to change.
- Demonstrates initiative and works independently on complex projects.
- Fluency in English preferred.
