As Sr. Program Control Specialist, you will partner with an integrated program team to develop program plans and create cost and schedule baselines. You will prepare and publish metrics and reports. You will analyze variances and review compliance to corporate guidelines across multiple teams. Your findings will drive decisions to improve the program performance impacting one or more site locations. This role also requests mentoring and leadership skills for development of team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Drive development of project control plans, WBS, cost budget and schedule baselines to measure project performance/success through KPI's on the largest, most complex, multi-site projects
- Analyze project performance through cost and schedule integration. Analyze the unbilled, receivable, and payable balances on assigned projects.
- Analyze cost and schedule variance versus baseline. Identify root cause and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare and publish metrics and financial reports
- Support/Drive Project Forecasting, Project Reviews, Monthly Progress Reporting to Internal/External Customers
- Apply EVM (Earned Value Management) techniques to Project/Program, S Curves
- Assist with Change, Risk and Lead EAC Management on assigned projects/programs
- Ensure effective communication and partner with the Project Team (internal/external) to build relationships
- Monitor and Report Compliance as per GPMO requirements/Management Operating System (MOS). Works with Business Management (Program Managers, Directors, and Finance management) to report on financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls
- Lead or support internal improvement processes or special assigned initiatives
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- 7+ years’ experience in Project Controls.
- Working knowledge with project management processes (i.e., cost, EVM (Earned Value Management), schedule, baseline development, assigning time phased resources and budgets to work scope, performance measurements, etc.)
- Experience with external customer interfacing
- Ability to influence at varying levels across the organization
- Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
- User experience of ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Microsiga)
- Proficient Microsoft Office package skills e.g., Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
- Expert level experience in financial data compilation, analysis, and metrics management
- Project Management, Project Schedule Professional (PMI-SP), or Cost Engineering Certification
- Strong Experience with Cost Control, Scheduling (Waterfall/Agile/Lean/Scrum), Time Management, and Contract Management
