Job Description
About the Role:

This critical position is responsible for developing the content, programs, and experiences of several Gartner Conferences, as well as overall management of those Conferences.

The Senior Program Manager owns several of IT and Business-related conference(s) and is tasked to:

  • Develop the conference product strategy to drive growth, profitability and retention, in collaboration with global PM leads
  • Create the most compelling attendee-driven conference agenda based on market needs and requirements.

To achieve desired results, the Sr. Program Manager collaborates closely with various stakeholders including:

  • Gartner Research and Gartner Consulting
  • Audience Acquisition / Marketing / Conference Attendee Sales
  • Sponsorship Sales
  • Conference Operations / Logistics
  • Research Marketing, Sales, and Service Delivery

What you’ll do:

  • Drive primary and secondary market research in order to understand client issues and market trends
  • Identify and define target audience, exhibitor opportunities for the conferences.
  • Collaborate with Gartner Research Conference Chair to create client-focused programs that deliver the most relevant content for each role.
  • Secure keynote speakers, panels and case studies.
  • Collaborate with Gartner Research and Services Delivery teams to ensure we create and facilitate great client experiences and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with global program leads on creating the conference or portfolio strategy
  • Evangelize and promote conferences to internal and external constituents.
  • Innovate conference experiences, content and formats.
  • Work closely with Conferences Marketing to create compelling messaging and campaigns, as well as assist with media partners, to drive growth and increase retention
  • Collaborate with Conferences Sales to identify prospective sponsors/exhibitors, accelerate the sales process and increase retention.
  • Collaborate with Conferences Operations to ensure cost-effective solutions to achieve optimal attendee and sponsor experiences
  • Identify and evaluate competitive conferences, including attending competitive conferences.

In addition to your portfolio responsibilities, you may be involved in regional support for conference delivery, including speaker management (guest Keynotes  and case study speakers)

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field is a must.
  • 3-7 years’ relevant experience in event program management including content agenda creation & speaker management preferred.
  • Conference or content-rich program planning experience is a must.
  • Proven track record creating and executing strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative matrix environment, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and ability to influence.
  • Desire for global / multinational conference experience
  • Good multi-project management, prioritization, time management capacity
  • Familiarity with technology, data analysis, and AI a plus.
  • Ability to engage effectively with C-level executives.
  • Ability to accommodate moderate travel to approx. 7 conferences annually, domestic and international (approx. 15%).
