About The Role:
CrowdStrike is looking for a self-starting, responsible, detailed-oriented, and highly motivated Security Researcher to join our growing Counter Adversary Operations team. This position will require the candidate to apply a broad set of skills to support the CrowdStrike Intelligence mission.
The security researcher will be part of a team focused on a long-term research and collection project that supports the needs of other teams within CrowdStrike Intelligence.
Aside from working on longer-term research and collection projects, security researchers will be required to provide unique solutions on short notice to serve ad-hoc needs by other teams within CrowdStrike Intelligence.
What You'll Do:
Remain informed on current information security topics.
Automate tasks for the collection, processing, and analysis of data - such as malware activity, network traffic, or incident analysis.
Operate, extend and create honeypots to identify and detect adversary TTPs.
Develop and implement creative, unconventional ideas by leveraging new technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Collaborate closely with multiple and diverse stakeholders of CrowdStrike’s global Counter Adversary Operations team.
What You'll Need:
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Strong information security background with 4+ years experience.
Solid understanding of Linux and Microsoft Windows operating system internals.
Solid understanding of network protocols.
Solid software development experience in Python.
Ability to work remotely, in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent problem solving skills, creativity and strong analytical skills to investigate, assess, validate, and think outside the box.
Threat Intelligence background preferred.
Comprehensive, practical knowledge of research collection tradecraft.
Knowledge of malware analysis, IR, and/or reverse engineering is a plus.
Experience with large corporate environments is a plus.
Bonus Points:
BS or equivalent experience in Information Security/Computer Science/Computer
Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated engagement in the security community, academic research community, or
open source software development.
Other technical security certifications or research background is a plus.
