The CBA technology unit delivers the best digital banking services to Commonwealth Bank customers and to do so is responsible for digital delivery, group data and analytics, technology and technology infrastructure, cyber, fraud, physical security and business resilience for all divisions across CBA. It is also dedicated to delivering the best workplace technology experience for our over 53,000 people across CBA and focused on providing the latest tools, technology, and resources to enhance the way we work together and empower our people to achieve more for our customers.

CommSec is Australia's largest online retail stockbroker. It is one of the most highly-visible and visited online assets in Australian financial services. CommSec’s systems utilise a variety of technologies and support a broad range of investors. Software engineers within CommSec are offered regular opportunities to work on some of the finest IT systems in Australia, as well as having opportunity to develop careers across different functions and teams within the wider Bank.

As a Staff Software Engineer within CommSec, you will be a contributing to CommSec's technology stack and instrumental to shaping the technical capabilities of CommSec's products and digital experience to delight our customers as well are uplifting engineers around you. With your rich blend of skillsets you will contribute to the systems end-to-end as well as manage risk with safe deployments and automated testing.

  • Be able to advocate for new technology approaches, with the experience to understand the architectural integration of software solutions in the Adobe Experience Cloud and Adobe Experience Platform

  • Ability to effectively communicate, educate, and influence the business stakeholders, and mentor the direct reports to uplift the overall team's performance will be highly essential

  • A true passion to establish and uplift a high-performing team culture, and a positive, "can-do" attitude when juggling multiple priorities would be highly desirable

  • Are adept at showing a high level of emotional intelligence when supporting teams and influencing business leaders.

Skills and Experience Must Have:

  • Experience in designing, developing and deploying high quality software solutions in Adobe Experience Manager including content publishing workflows, managed service environments, cloud hosting, and the publishing of content into other channels such as mobile apps, secure applications, and authenticated environments.

  • Experience in working with and developing design systems for single page application frameworks (SPA) websites.

  • Experience in designing and managing digital asset managers (DAM) for the scale of content across multiple digital channels and multiple brands.

  • Experience in headless websites, creation of experience fragments (Adobe HTML offers), and content fragments (JSON offers), and the integration of these offers across websites, and mobile applications. Hands on experience using Core Components, Editable templates, Experience Fragments, Content Fragments, HTL, Client Libraries, Sling Models, OSGI, Servlets, Schedulers, Events and Workflows.

  • Experience in the integration and configuration Adobe Experience Manager with other tools such as Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Launch, Audience Manager, and AEP etc.

  • Proven expertise in building, leading, and managing a team of software engineers would be highly essential

  • Commendable skills and understanding of software engineering and architecture principles, including end to end test automation, UI testing, and CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity) will be desirable

Skills and Experience Nice to Have:

  • Experience in setting up multi-channel personalisation and experience platforms such as Adobe Journey Optimiser including the creation of the digital profiles, segmentation, and distribution channels for web, email, mobile, and SMS etc.

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) including integrations with core data systems, platform governance, schema configurations, and the ad on services for Adobe Journey Optimiser (AJO), Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), and Real-time CDP (RTCDP).

  • Experience in managing email channels in platforms such as Adobe Campaign Manager or Adobe Journey Optimiser, including template creation, channel management, and data and segmentation.

  • Experience and understanding of tag management including JavaScript, data layer and tagging approaches across digital assets, including mobile applications (SDK), web single page application (SDK), websites, and the configuration and management of data streams to digital platforms such as Adobe, Google, Facebook etc.
