Job Description:
We’re seeking a Technical Lead (known internally as a Staff Engineer) to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering modern retail technology solutions. This is a senior individual contributor role with high autonomy, ownership of technical strategy, and influence across multiple portfolios.
What you’ll do:
Lead design and delivery of end‑to‑end applications (UI, APIs, services, data)
Own epics and act as Lead Engineer on medium–large initiatives
Define technical strategy and architecture across multiple domains
Drive DevSecOps, non‑functional requirements, and operability (performance, security, resilience)
Take hands‑on ownership of complex features and services
Partner closely with Product, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and global vendors
Manage COTS applications across their full lifecycle
Uplift engineering standards, processes, and best practices
What you bring:
Senior/lead‑level application development experience
Proven ability to influence architecture and lead complex initiatives
Strong communication and collaboration skills in global teams
Retail, e‑commerce, or FMCG experience (preferred)
Azure certifications and cloud cost optimisation experience (preferred)
Technical skills:
Azure: App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage
Backend/API: .NET Core, C#, REST, event‑driven, Apigee
Frontend: Blazor, Razor, Telerik
Data: ADF, SQL (ETL/ELT)
DevOps: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
Security: OWASP, ISO27001, IAM, encryption
Reporting Tools: JIRA, Confluence
