See Yourself in the Team

Join the engineering team behind Ceba2.0, Australia’s first Gen AI-powered customer-facing platform in financial services. The Messaging Enablement crew are focused on building intelligent, scalable platforms that support the development of AI-powered autonomous agents. The team partners closely with ML Engineers to deliver the infrastructure and tooling that powers next-generation enterprise automation. With a strong emphasis on backend engineering, cloud-native development, and integration with modern AI frameworks, the crew are driving innovation aligned with enterprise risk and strategy in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Your Impact and Contribution

While the AI capabilities are cutting-edge, this role centres on building the platform foundations that enable those innovations.

As a Staff Engineer, you’ll lead the development of scalable, secure, and reliable Azure-hosted cloud platforms that integrate with .NET applications and support AI/ML engineering workflows.

Your work will empower experimentation, deployment, and monitoring of autonomous agents, while ensuring the platform remains resilient, scalable, observable, and compliant. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping the infrastructure and tooling that underpin intelligent digital experiences for our colleagues and customers. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Architect and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, with occasional AWS integration.
  • Build backend services and automation pipelines to support platform operations.
  • Integrate with and support .NET-based applications across the team’s ecosystem.
  • Partner with ML Engineers to support model training, deployment, and observability.
  • Implement monitoring and observability using pro-code, low-code, or no-code tools.
  • Identify and deliver automation opportunities across infrastructure and development pipelines.
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance aligned with Group risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with a Product Owner based in India (flexibility across time zones is essential).
  • Optimise performance and scalability through cloud architecture best practices.

Your Skills and Experience

This role is ideal for a staff level backend engineer with deep platform development experience, demonstrable exposure and a passion for building infrastructure that developers and ML engineers love, and a commitment to delivering and influencing the delivery of best practice engineering solutions.

To this role, the ideal applicant will bring:

  • Proven expertise in Azure platform development, including cloud-native infrastructure and associated services.
  • Experience integrating with .NET applications, with a strong understanding of their architecture and runtime behaviour.
  • Working knowledge of AI and Agentic AI principles, either through direct development or collaboration with AI teams.
  • Skilled in identifying and executing automation opportunities to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability stacks (e.g., Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates).
  • Familiarity with Power Platform and Copilot Studio, or a strong interest in learning and integrating them.
  • A disciplined approach to engineering in regulated environments, balancing innovation with compliance.
  • Strong communication skills and a track record of mentoring and influencing engineering best practices.
