Our Platform Engineering team exists to make building at Mosh feel effortless. We build and own our Internal Developer Platform (IDP), treating it like a product and our engineers like customers. That means a strong focus on developer experience, smoothing out rough edges, and taking cognitive load off individual contributors so they can focus on what matters most: shipping great outcomes for our members.

Platform at Mosh isn’t about gates or guardrails for the sake of it. It’s about enablement. We listen closely to our app developers, build tight feedback loops with all our stakeholders, and continuously evolve the platform based on real needs. Strong product thinking is core to how we work — understanding problems deeply, prioritising intentionally, and delivering solutions that genuinely make life easier.

What you will do

As a Staff Platform Engineer you will:

• Design, build, and own our Internal Developer Platform—enabling self-service capabilities, standardised golden paths, and stress-free deployments & releases.
• Embed security controls into the platform from day one, ensuring security at scale as our product suite expands.
• Write clean code, perform code reviews, produce documentation and take the lead in solving complex technical challenges.
• Champion high standards for code and platform health through automated regression, performance and resiliency testing.
• Drive operational excellence by instrumenting observability, creating run books and contributing to incident response and resolution.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve our software engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams and build platform features to make their lives easier
• Use a data-driven approach to decide if new infrastructure or services need to be added
• Mentor less experienced engineers in best practice.
• Help grow the engineering team through interviews and code reviews.

What you will bring

• A healthy curiosity, autonomy and a strong sense of accountability.
• Strong desire to perform and grow as an engineer.
• Demonstrated technical initiative and a penchant for clean code.
• 8+ years of experience designing, building and scaling platforms from scratch.
• Extensive knowledge of:
  • Cloud architecture principles (load balancing, high availability, server-based and serverless architecture, database configurations)
  • Distributed Systems (Event Driven, Service Mesh, API Gateways)
  • Resilience Patterns (circuit breakers, resiliency frameworks, fault tolerance, self-healing mechanisms)
  • Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud security fundamentals.
• Strong experience with observability tools like Datadog.
• Experience working with CI/CD platforms.

• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools, we use Terraform.

Nice to have:

• Healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industry background.
• Product mindset—you think about developers as your customers.
