The team is made up of product designers who take pride in high ownership, strong user empathy, and long-term thinking. We are seeking an experienced product designer with extensive experience in designing and building advanced trading products. This role will establish and lead design efforts as part of a local team in Singapore. This team will primarily focus on Coinbase's advanced products and collaborate with teams in the US to define and deliver Coinbase's next-generation trading experience. The role involves leading multi-quarter, cross-organizational initiatives, mentoring designers, and delivering high-quality trading products that address both local and global customer needs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Drive the product design vision and execution of complex, multi-quarter projects across multiple design and engineering teams.
- Lead the discovery and development of mission-critical trading product experiences, including order placement, execution flows, and user interface.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and other functions to align design strategy with long-term product bets and roadmap.
- Deeply understand and influence our trading product roadmap, identifying strategic design initiatives.
- Mentor and coach product designers across various levels, fostering growth and developing the next generation of trading and design leaders.
- Elevate design quality and promote best practices through design reviews, user research, and process improvements.
What we look for in you:
- 8+ years of product design experience, with a strong track record of shipping large-scale consumer or trading products, including significant leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in designing trading products (traditional or crypto), with hands-on experience and strategic oversight in areas like order types, execution algorithms, market data presentation, or risk management.
- You are customer-obsessed and bring strong user empathy to strategic planning and technical decision-making.
- Proven ability to lead and drive complex initiatives across organizational boundaries, influencing stakeholders and achieving consensus.
- Strong mentoring skills with a passion for leveling up teammates and building high-performing teams.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments with high stakes and high velocity, providing clear direction and stability.
- High bar for quality, user experience, and operational excellence, instilling these values within the team.
Nice to haves:
- You’ve been part of a company that builds complicated trading platforms.
- Prior experience in financial markets, especially equities, FX, or crypto.
- Familiarity with regulated environments and designing for compliance and auditability.
- Experience with global product launches and localization.
- Contributions to open source or trading protocols.
