Focus of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer (Pega Infra) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS architecture, containerization, security configurations, and enterprise authentication solutions.

As a Staff Engineer you model the highest standards of software engineering practice in the work you do. Acting with a sense of urgency, whilst remaining flexible you put customer needs first. You actively use your breadth and depth of expertise to build capability and raise work standards in the teams you are working in.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and manage AWS architecture, including VPCs, security configurations, firewall rules, and IAM.
  • Develop and maintain Docker container environments and optimize container orchestration, preferably Kubernetes.
  • Provide expertise in PEGA and ensure seamless integration within DevOps workflows.
  • Implement and manage SSO authentication using Shibboleth and EntraID.
  • Work with Tomcat application servers for deployment and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with Security and ORC teams to obtain necessary approvals for releases.
  • Participate actively in architecture discussions and contribute to best practices in infrastructure design and security.
  • Ensure robust database integration with PostgreSQL and optimize database performance in a cloud environment.
  • Contribute to security compliance and risk assessments for cloud infrastructure.

About You

Essential:

  • Expertise in AWS cloud architecture, including networking, security, and IAM policies.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
  • Experience with PEGA platform and its integration with DevOps processes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise authentication mechanisms, including Shibboleth, EntraID, and SSO.
  • Proficiency in Tomcat application server management and configuration.
  • Solid experience working with PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments.
  • Experience working with security and ORC teams for compliance and approvals.
  • Ability to participate in architecture discussions and provide technical guidance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Prior experience in large-scale enterprise applications and cloud security.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline automation for secure deployments.
