The role & impact

As a Strategic Account Executive, you will be a senior individual contributor focused on building and growing direct relationships with strategic accounting and bookkeeping partners. You will play a vital part in generating new partnerships through outbound prospecting and influencing the creation of business plans to help these firms develop their online strategies.

Your impact comes from making small businesses more efficient by connecting them with big business technology. By managing the pre-sales process and ensuring commitments are delivered, you will help build a stronger economy and empower a community of partners to reach their limitless potential.

The team & how they connect

You will work as part of a coordinated sales team, collaborating closely with local Senior Account Managers to increase Xero penetration within major accounts. The team focuses on nurturing positive relationships and exchanging ideas directly and kindly to ensure the long-term success of our accounting partners.

Initially, you will focus on

  • Developing formal strategic account engagement plans and delivering introductory events to prospective partners.

  • Managing inbound sales enquiries and supporting regional teams to ensure prompt responses to prospective strategic accounts.

  • Educating strategic accounts on available partner resources and driving attendance for sales-led forums and webinars.

  • Monitoring the progress of assigned accounts through the sales cycle while maintaining accurate records within our CRM system.

Where and how you can work

This is a national role requiring significant travel to build face-to-face rapport with our partners and attend events across the UK. Please note that the majority of our partners that this role will look after are based in Southern England, so you will need the flexibility to travel within this territory. You will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule while staying connected to the team through weekly check-ins and regular "boost days" in the office.

Here are some of the things we are looking for

  • You bring a proven ability to hunt for new business and influence outcomes within large partner or vertical channels.

  • A deep understanding of workflows within large accounting firms would be a significant advantage in helping you consult effectively.

  • You possess the communication skills necessary to deliver engaging presentations and build a quick, genuine rapport with partners.

  • Your results-focused approach is matched by a process-driven mindset and a high level of attention to detail.

  • You demonstrate plenty of initiative and the ability to work autonomously to manage your own territory and targets.

  • Extensive knowledge of the practice and SME software landscape allows you to provide valuable insights to your clients.

Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.
