We are seeking a Strategic Account Manager to drive long‑term growth across medium-to-large commercial accounts. This is an opportunity for a commercially astute sales leader to shape strategy, deepen customer partnerships and influence outcomes in a highly respected, purpose‑driven organization.

About the Role:

As a Strategic Account Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by delivering solutions that strengthen customer advocacy and position Essity as a trusted partner within the retail pharmacy segment.

You’ll manage and grow relationships strategic key accounts and Pharmacy banner groups, with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth. This includes identifying opportunities within your territory, delivering training and educational workshops, and implementing tailored sales strategies to exceed targets. You’ll ensure proposals, contracts, and pricing align with Essity’s financial strategy while creating genuine value for customers.

We’re seeking someone independent, customer-focused, and proactive, who takes ownership of their territory. With a primary focus on New South Wales, you’ll drive adoption of Essity’s innovative product portfolio, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and use your commercial acumen to address customer needs and strengthen our market presence.

What You Will Do:

You’ll lead the growth of a portfolio of medium to large strategic accounts across NSW, building strong partnerships and delivering sustainable commercial outcomes. You will also:

  • Develop targeted sales strategies to grow key accounts.

  • Build relationships with decision‑makers and identify new opportunities.

  • Lead confident, value‑focused contract discussions.

  • Support the sales team by sharing best practices and insights.

  • Stay across customer needs, market trends and competitor activity.

  • Use insights and data to maintain a strong, healthy pipeline.

  • Deliver accurate reporting and forecasting for planning purposes.

  • Partner with stakeholders through quarterly business reviews.

  • Work closely with wholesale partners on promotions and channel execution.

  • Maintain strong CRM discipline and sales processes.

  • Collaborate across teams on broader business initiatives.

Who You Are:

Ideally, you’ll bring 5+ years of sales and account management experience with key pharmacy groups, including developing and executing call plans. You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Health Sciences or a related field.

  • Proven success delivering sustainable, profitable sales within the health or medical sector.

  • Strong experience in contract management, tenders and commercial negotiations.

  • Advanced IT capability, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems, with confidence using data to guide decisions.

  • The ability to influence without authority and work effectively across sales, marketing and supply chain.

  • A growth mindset with the ability to anticipate market shifts and translate insights into strategic action.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and Key Opinion Leaders.

  • A current driver’s license and car

  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed (6 weekly trips to Canberra, Orange and Blue mountains)

Existing senior customer or pharmacy banner group relationships are highly regarded. We also welcome candidates from retail or FMCG who are looking to move into the pharmacy sector. Experience in wound care, orthopaedics or compression products will also be viewed favorably.
