About the Role
Team Global Express (TGE) is seeking a highly motivated Strategic Account Manager to join our vibrant sales team in Sydney. You can be based anywhere close to the City or North-West, with the role focusing on achieving revenue growth and meeting sales targets. You will be dedicated to managing one of our blue chip strategic customers.
The primary goal is to increase TGE’s profile, maximize share of wallet, and build customer loyalty to ensure retention and growth. Reporting directly to the General Manager Grocery and Wholesale you will also be responsible for developing, expanding, and strengthening long-term relationships within your portfolio to drive business retention and expansion.
This role requires someone with extensive experience, strong drive, passion, organization, and a solutions-focused mindset.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and review the customer’s growth and sales strategy.

Build and maintain executive-level relationships within the customer, extending beyond operational/procurement.

Drive sustainable growth by expanding current services and identifying cross-sell opportunities across business units.

Actively identify strategic imperatives and opportunities for new business development.

Maintain accurate sales and revenue forecasts, ensuring that all opportunities are tracked, reviewed, and progressed within target timeframes in the CRM system.

Champion the customer’s needs internally at both executive and operational levels, identifying and developing innovative solutions to address their challenges.
About You
With a passion for sales, you thrive in selling complex B2B solutions to large customers, including managing long lead-time sales. You are driven by process and contract management and have a background in solution development. Your analytical skills allow you to interpret data and create strong, detailed solutions. You bring in-depth experience in supply chain and enjoy building relationships. Your strong sales and influencing abilities, along with your capacity to communicate and network with stakeholders at all levels, will be key to your success in this role.
Qualifications & Experience:

Extensive experience in large account management.

Proven experience in creating and delivering sales proposals and presentations.

Strong relationship-building skills, particularly with C-suite executives.

Experience in responding to tenders and negotiating contracts.

Proven ability to develop strategies for customer retention and growth.

Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Commercial acumen, including experience in customer and opportunity planning, as well as revenue forecasting.

Knowledge of key market segments and thought leadership in your industry.

Understanding of sales techniques, aligning sales strategy with buyer behaviour, account planning, portfolio management, and reporting.

Knowledge of solutions, products, services, new technologies, and trends in digital ecommerce.

Collaborative, evidence-based decision maker with strong interpersonal skills and openness to feedback.

High-level communication skills, both written and verbal.

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite (you will be responsible for analytical reporting and presenting monthly/quarterly stats).
Desirable Experience:

Experience working with rail, e-commerce, or grocery/supermarket sectors is highly desirable.

Previous experience managing large retail accounts, particularly in the grocery sector, is an advantage.
In this role, you will be managing a very prestigious account, so expertise in that sector is a plus. We are looking for someone who has a proven ability to drive growth and nurture long-term relationships with a key customer.
