Own the Strategy. Drive the Growth. Define the Future of Travel Payments.

At WEX, we don’t just manage accounts; we own them. We are looking for a high-octane Strategic Relationship Manager to take full commercial ownership of a premium portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.

This isn’t a maintenance role. We need a commercial heavyweight—someone who understands the intricate pipes of the travel industry and has the instinct to unlock untapped revenue streams within a complex, multi-billion dollar ecosystem.

The Opportunity

As a commercial owner, you will oversee a curated portfolio of key strategic accounts. Your mission is to move beyond the traditional vendor relationship, positioning WEX as the indispensable payments partner of choice by delivering measurable growth and high-level strategic value.

What You’ll Do
  • Architect the Strategy: Develop and execute a sophisticated commercial roadmap, identifying high-value opportunities across the travel value chain.

  • Drive High-Velocity Execution: Move with pace. You’ll lead complex negotiations, structure bespoke deals, and convert expansion opportunities into realized revenue.

  • Be a Trusted Advisor: You aren’t just a contact point; you’re a consultant. You’ll bring a strong point of view on payment optimization and industry trends to C-Suite stakeholders.

  • Master the Portfolio: From forecasting to risk mitigation, you’ll maintain full visibility over your portfolio’s performance, using data-led insights to steer your strategy and "course-correct" toward success.

The Success Profile

You are a rare blend of commercial intensity and relational credibility. You know the difference between a "supplier" and a "partner," and you have the track record to prove it.

You’ll stand out if you have:

  • 5+ Years of Dominance: A proven track record in Relationship Management or Business Development within the Travel or Payments sectors.

  • Deep Industry DNA: You understand OTAs, TMCs, and travel wholesalers. You know how the money moves and where the friction points are.

  • Negotiation Prowess: You are comfortable leading complex, high-stakes commercial engagements and deal structuring.

  • Ownership Mentality: You thrive in high-expectation environments where accountability is the baseline and exceeding targets is the goal.

  • Strategic Agility: You can pivot from a high-level boardroom strategy to the granular details of a financial model without breaking a beat.

Why WEX?

We operate at the intersection of fintech and travel—two of the most dynamic industries on the planet. At WEX, you’ll have the autonomy to run your portfolio like your own business, backed by the global scale and innovative technology of a market leader.

If you’re ready to move beyond "account maintenance" and start driving true commercial impact, we want to hear from you.

The Essentials
  • Expertise in travel distribution, suppliers, and payment flows.

  • Strong experience with Salesforce and financial modeling.

  • Ability to travel across the ANZ region to build face-to-face rapport.

  • A background in Virtual Cards or B2B payment solutions is highly regarded.
