About the role:

We’re looking for a Strategy Director to join our team and work on some of Australia’s most exciting challenger brands, including KFC. This role sits at the intersection of brand strategy, culture, and connections thinking, and requires an ability to create cultural impact for brands in meaningful ways.

What you’ll do:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Champion a connections-first approach to creative development, ensuring ideas are rooted in audience insights and media realities.
  • Lead the development of integrated communication strategies and campaign ecosystems that align with client business goals and brand objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to junior members of the strategy team.

Client Relationships:

  • Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on all matters related to communication strategy.
  • Present strategic recommendations to clients in a clear, compelling, and persuasive manner.

Creative Collaboration:

  • Work closely with creative teams to develop ideas that are both strategically sound and creatively inspiring.
  • Ensure that creative concepts are optimised for the relevant media channels and platforms.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of breakthrough creative ideas.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 5 years of brand and creative strategy experience working closely with creative teams and clients.
  • At least 3 years of comms planning experience across integrated media, with emphasis on social and cultural connections.
  • Track record of working on highly impactful and effective creative campaigns.
  • Experience working within agency villages, collaborating and orchestrating ideas across disciplines.
  • A student of marketing effectiveness, advertising & media enthusiast and fan of pop culture.
  • Deep experience writing and presenting connections strategy narratives.
  • Experienced researcher, cultural intelligence and data gatherer and interpreter.
  • Incisive & lateral thinker.
  • Impactful communicator.
  • Creative collaborator.
  • Well organised and proactive.
